With over two turns of uncertain leadership and Fort's only junior, Dahlia, ill with plague, Benden Weyr convened a Weyr Council meeting that resulted in a vote that threw open the leadership of Fort to the next junior gold on Pern to go proddy. Though Dahlia recovered, there was less than a day from the time she was released from the infirmary to Zaisavyth's unexpected proddiness. Mirinda of Monaco became the (un)lucky winner of the honor to become Weyrwoman at Fort Weyr.

On Day 23 of Month 4, Zaisavyth rose in her new home and was caught by Fortian N'rov's Vhaeryth, making them the new Weyrleaders at Fort Weyr.

Though candidates had to be recruited from Monaco to supplement those available at Fort Weyr, the hatching went off without a hitch on day 10, month 9, turn 39, sending 14 new pairs into the weyrling barracks with the newly (and controversially) appointed Monocoan Weyrlingmaster, Olivya, and her staff.
