Gilded Cage Egg
A pale, pearly egg shimmers every color in even faint light, iridescent and smooth. Small ridges in its formation stand out in rings around its apex, dusky silver with thick trails of crimson seeping down its sides. The bloody color is a sharp contrast, like gashes in the flesh of something pure and innocent - or signs of a fighting spirit trapped within.
The shattering of the Gilded Cage Egg is swift, breaking not along the crimson lines but out through the side, defying all expectations from the very beginning. A wild-looking green stands motionless, breathless from her exertions. Tail lashing slowly, she takes in her surroundings with complete silence.
Twilight and Shadow Green
This green is a long, lithe creature of contrasting tones, murky and blazing all at once. Starting with the dark, earthy peat of her talons, a bright sharpness is gained as it turns from the glimmering hue of green amber along her bony limbs to fiery luminescence along her spine and wicked neckridges. Her wings flash with smoky puffs of absinthe, stemming from shoulders that seem to have borrowed camouflage from the dapples of an evening forest. Her softly rounded head is covered with armor of dark serpentine that spreads down her throat like a ruff, flecks of lighter peridot accenting dainty eyeridges and the slenderness of her face. These gather en masse down her lean neck, stippling patterns of no certain design until they merge with a blaze of eerie green fire across her chest. This trails down her underbelly and mixes with the same sparks of verdant amber, casting a veil of evening mist over her hindquarters. More nighttime foliage spreads out from between her wings to lend a secret, spectral tone to her overall being, ending in the sylvan glimmering of a slender, whiplike tail.
Temperament
Initially bold as a weyrling, sensitive Eiranyeth will stand up for her clutchmates and her bonded, a fiery damsel of action. Her words will come quickly and without hesitation.
Sticks and stones break bones, and Eiranyeth is particularly sensitive to words - whether they're made to sting or just carelessly tossed about. Taunts, challenges, bullying and the rest will all pile up in her memory, the ones directed at her beloved Merrow causing the most grief in her heart. You may find yourself standing up for others in order to protect Eiranyeth in a strange role reversal, defending any and all who need it. It will be easy for Eira to slip into despair and foul moods over these wounds.
Hardened by the struggles of youth and wizened to the ways of those who would do others harm, Eiranyeth may grow into a stony wall or a firebrand..
When it comes to mating, Eiranyeth is as picky and patient as they come. She'll tolerate devoted suitors to the ends of the earth only to reject them at the last moment, often reacting poorly to males who approach first. Her own heart may be carelessly flung to the wind over a certain male who is bold enough to impress her with his actions, admiring from a distance, showing coy advances here and there. Regrettably, bronzes catch her attention more often than the chromatics, most likely due to their fate to be earmarked as brash, fearless leaders - whether it be true or not. It's lucky that Eiranyeth is content to love from afar even when proddy, especially if the queens of the Weyr are territorial about their mates. She's fond of youngsters of any species, guiding and defending them as if they were her own.
Thread may be gone for the Interval, but a dragon's instincts don't spin away with the Red Star. Eiranyeth will be serious and authorative in drills, paying strict attention to detail and utmost respect to her instructors. Flaming will be a source of great pride for her, often challening herself in this area - how far, long, large, hot can she make it? Can she aim for that wherry over there? « Want to see who can flame longer, Coricoth? » Her competitive nature will flash briefly, but with no real Thread to fight her intensity will turn to other matters. Duties are to be carried out to the letter, not a minute shirked. She feels the pressure, however, and is a master at pushing it down, down, down.. to that roiling pit of darkness. Don't be there when it explodes.
Public Impression Message
Stalking across the sands, wings already drying enough to rise at her sides, the sleek and serpentine Twilight and Shadow Green seems that much bigger for their carriage. Her uncoordinated steps of earlier are forgotten, clumsiness banished by sudden decision. Candidates dive out of the way or are buffeted by her rapid passing, low to the ground until finally the black dust clears; she can be seen wrapping what little there is of her around the bare legs of a short, equally lean woman, neck craning upwards with a satisfied croon. Chosen.
Private Impression Message
You are frozen to the spot, fear and awe cementing your feet to the burning sands while others dodge away from the dangerous streak of green. You brace for impact, unneeded, as a wistful, saddened voice comes to your mind: « You would run from me? Your Eiranyeth? » Eyes whirling a distinct haze of gray over their hungry red cast, pushing out the content blues and greens of most Impressees. « I will run after you, as fast as the wind. » She collects herself in a heartbeat, strong and willful at your feet. There is no fear, never again.
Mindvoice
Silent more often than not, her words are well-chosen and often heavy, serious. The elements rain from her voice at times: fiery accusations, the cool breeze of consolation, a sincere and earthy promise, the murky depths of oceans or whitecaps of rapid rivers.
Inspiration
She was based on the warrior maiden Eowyn from Tolkien's _The Lord of the Rings_ trilogy. Fearing life in a cage, Eowyn disobeys her male counterparts and disguises herself as a man to fight at Minas Tirith to protect her people. On the fields of the Pelennor to avenge her fallen uncle, she slays the Witch-King of Angor and lives to tell the tale despite being gravely wounded. "But no living man am I! You look upon a woman."
Egg Description: A true gilded cage, pretty and so dangerous.
