Power defines every curve of this young, dark queen, her molten gold hide brushed with swathes of rich bronze that ripple across her robust form in wide, generous strokes. She's no delicate creature, her copper-kissed shoulders broad and hindquarters powerful, her shadowy, aged-brass limbs promising a heavy, confident step. A blunt, square-set muzzle leads to a heavy jaw and relatively short neck, her sharp, slim ridges smudged with charcoal that glimmers with hints of sunshine-bright gold. Those broad shoulders of hers support heavy, almost opaque, roseate-bronze sails, their spars a little shorter than one might expect from her size. Her paws are substantial, yet delicate things, tipped with flame-touched claws the same shade that envelops the tip of her lithe tail.

Essence Egg
The largest of the clutch, this perfectly smooth egg gives off an enthralling glow not so different to the pale gold of its dam's hide. At first glance, it might seem white, yet to study it is to reveal the glimmer of a bright winter morning's sunshine, the shimmering shade sweeping over its shell in a flawless, untainted wash. Soft as silk to the touch, that it holds its form at all may well feel surprising, and yet there's a sturdiness to it, highlighted by the tiniest flecks of rich, burnished gold that ground it as solid and not ethereal.
Essence Egg slowly begins to shake and shatter, piece by little piece. There's no sign of a paw here or a tail there, but the whole of its pale-gold form starts to take on a life of its own, as though breathing in and out. As it seems to inhale, shell expanding outwards, finally and all at once a dark, shimmering body bursts free, sending shards scattering all around.

Temperament
At the moment of her hatching, you will learn that Elaruth has passed something of her sensitivity onto Eliyaveith. She adores and will revel in heat, to a much greater extent than other dragons, but the cold is despised. Eliyaveith is incredibly sensitive to temperature, sound and texture, her hide able to pick up the slightest change, so much that it might feel that sound itself reverberates right through her. Even the slightest breeze will have the capacity to unsettle her, at first, until she learns to stop the world around her from flooding in. How much of this she shares with you will depend on her mood: if she's having a bad day and wants you to understand, she'll share everything in painful detail. It might be that her dam's assistance in learning to deal with it all could be of some use, if you're willing to seek it.
Eliyaveith is similar to her dam in how she sees and /remembers/ family, both her siblings and parents key components of the root system that she wishes to create and nurture. It might take her a little while, but she'll eventually put together a bigger family tree, realising that Isyath is her /sister/ as well as a queen senior to her, that Ryerith is her niece, Vhaeryth her nephew, and so on. As the leaders of the Weyr and as her parents, she'll want Elaruth and Bijedth to be proud of her and take notice of what she does, though she may not know exactly /how/ to earn herself that attention and approval in the 'right' ways early on. She's protective of her siblings, but won't smother them or impose her will, accepting that she needs to let them make their own mistakes... but she'll always be right there afterwards to pick up the pieces. She'll dote on them, if they let her, and will try her best to make you understand that relationships with others involve some give and take to be as fulfilling as she wants you to see them.
It's as lessons begin in earnest and the two of you take your first steps towards becoming fully-trained riders, as the world opens back up beyond sleeping and feeding, that she'll learn about that world's capacity for deception, as well as your own. Disappointment is not met with anger, but with distance and quiet, the digging in of her metaphorical heels as she tries to work out /why/ you would do such a thing. And after the why? Then she'll tell you what she believes you should have done, and ask how you could betray her and yourself in such a way. She won't lie for you, even to get ahead, and her lessons will be attended whether you're ready or not - if she has to leave without you, she will! Eliyaveith wants to set an example - the best example - and she'll struggle through any pain to make sure that she presents herself (and you) as well as she can. If her siblings don't behave, they will be chided, gently, and if she doesn't achieve what she wants right away, she'll be the first to ask what she can do to make sure she does /next time/.
As a member of Citrine, she won't have many drills or duties that /she/ is directly involved in, but that won't stop her from providing you with her opinion about the matters that /you/ have to deal with. If you allow it and don't 'train' her out of it, she'll provide an almost constant running commentary, sharing her thoughts and advice throughout your working day, and very little of it will turn out to be useless chatter. She's certainly got the intelligence gifted her colour, and whereas some might be content to use it only for the matters of dragons, she has no problem lending hers to assist in human affairs. Whether she's /right/ or not, well. When there are drills to attend, she might have some trouble adjusting to the fact that she's just another wingrider, until there should come a time when she is needed to lead, but she'll try to handle her irritation with good grace. In the skies, she'll be able to outlast many in her wing, but she'll never be blessed with acrobatic skill. When Eliyaveith is in the air, everyone will know where she is!
When Eliyaveith rises, unless she sees some honourable intent or genuine emotional attachment in /your/ preferences, she is determined not to be swayed by what you hope the outcome to be. Influencing her in flights will be incredibly difficult and involve the deception that she so despises and easily picks up on, should you wish for a certain bronze or brown to capture her. She'll look for that which she values highly when she rises, and want her suitors to be brave, honourable and true (and not reckless, aggressive and idle flirts). Eliyaveith's flights will tend to be about endurance, and she'll expect her chasers to push themselves as far as she pushes herself. She'll test herself as much as them, determined that she should not give in until only the best are left.
When she clutches, she will guard her eggs with a quiet, often restless fierceness, always on the lookout for any threats to her unhatched children. Whether she will tolerate the sire's presence on the Sands will depend on his temperament and whether he is willing to support her and understand her belief that the next generation is precious and important. It won't always seem like she /wants/ to be on the Sands, for there will be occasions when she just can't settle and sit still, but it's just that there's no real outlet for her energy, which may mean her eggs being moved often and injury to paws that are more delicate than they look, her pacing enough to aggravate sensitive hide.
Eliyaveith wants to build a family for the two of you; she wants the whole Weyr to not only highly regard, but love and honour you both. Not because you might /need/ them to, but because they can. Because she has the heart to love with. First and foremost, she loves you, and she wants you to /want/ beautiful things. Pretty things; positive things. Not just that which you think you need.
Public Impression Message
Heart's Incandescence Gold dismisses one of the girls closest to her with a quiet, regal huff and flick of her sturdy, untested wings. Not right. She continues on her journey and pauses at the feet of a young boy, to sniff at his feet and take a testing, experimental bite at the hem of his robe, but neither satisfy her, and she's soon on her way again. There's no hurry to her step, her body carried low to the Sands to revel in the warmth and dry her hide all the faster, and when she meets up with the redheaded girl, it's as if she chose her at the very start and only now feels the need to make her decision obvious. She bumps into her legs and settles herself down at her feet, curling close, possessive.
Private Impression Message
The warmth of the Sands all at once seems to seep through your pores and envelop your very thoughts and mind, settling there with a pleased, tender caress that makes you realise that it has a life of its own - a very /presence/ of its own. It emanates not from the sand at your feet, but from the young gold, who makes herself quite at home in your heart and soul as she weaves her warm mind through yours, blending you both together to re-forge as one. « Stand tall, Lilah, » Eliyaveith encourages, her confident, melodic voice steady and true. « We have a way to go, you and I, and duty calls us on. »
Mindvoice
Eliyaveith's mindvoice is very versatile, but there is a common thread whenever she speaks: warmth. The 'sound' of her voice is sweet and melodious, and has the tendency to betray her every feeling whether she likes it or not. Anything that can conduct heat is Eliyaveith's domain. When she's pleased, she might speak in bright sunbeams; when she's angry, she'll reach for the deceptive gentleness of searing steam; when she's calm, she'll reach for others with the warmth of low-burning hearth. She can turn all varieties of metal to serve her will, whether that's to cast a sword with which to riposte, or a bell to signal her delight.
Dragon Inspirations
Eliyaveith is based predominantly on Catelyn Stark, her moral code heavily slanted towards loyalty and duty to family, as Catelyn's is. This links in to the other influences in her personality, namely the queens of her line hatched before her. She has a twist on Elaruth's sensitivity and maternal instinct, Niyath's voice of reason and melodic tones, and Peirith's steadiness. She is truly a queen for whom blood tells and rings true. Egg Inspiration: The glow Charlaina takes on after becoming queen of her nation and the host of the evil Sabara, and being healed by her sister in the 'Pledge' series by Kimberly Derting.
Name Meaning
As family is a key component of her personality, Eliyaveith's (Ellie-ah-vey-th) name is drawn from the names of the queens in her maternal line, four generations back: Elaruth, Peirith, Faldaverth and Niyath.
Clutches
Eliyaveith has produced 1 gold, 2 bronze, 3 brown, 4 blue, and 5 green dragons.
