Lost Hatch-ing Egg
Supporting the bottom edge of this oddly shaped egg is a circlet of intertwined layers of mossy greens and verdant browns, forming a kind of jungle network of underbrush. Moving upward, creamy whiteness dominates the midsection, jagged pale gray patterns forming what might remind one of strong mortar or cement with several cracks, signifying an aging process. Upon one side of this egg are what appear to be a series of numbers, 4 8 15 16 23 42, which call to mind notations on a hide that the Headwoman would keep for food inventory. The apex is flattened out to some degree, slightly thinner in depth than the sides and bottom, glistening so brightly it might appear to be a window into the soul of its contents.
What? Does this egg have feet? Up, up and up goes the whole shell, tottering in mid air, barely balanced on two paws that have kicked shell from the underneath! Attempting a ragged sidestep, Lost Hatch-ing Egg careens wildly then staggers onto its side, the myriad of spinnerweb cracks giving way to a mini explosion from within. There stands Exclusively Distinguished Bronze Dragonet, blinking several times at his environment as shards plop from his hide to the hot sand beneath.

Has anyone ever seen a more dazzling bronze hide as the one that this young dragon sports! Beginning at the tip of his blanched almond nose, climbing up his head to swirl over headknobs then descending to his shoulderblades, a rich coppery bronze coloration dominates his hide-scape. Prominent wide set eyes seem to exude a sense of accomplishment or perhaps determination, even at this newborn age. A wide girth provides a placeholder for a daring chest that glistens when the sun's rays toy with the deep patina. Long legs dip to the ground, the glistening color only varying slightly at the juncture of talon and leg, becoming a burly wood shade to merge with the blackness. His flank joins haunches that promise strength and power, thinning into a lanky tail, built to someday whip at the Fortian air, sending him into full flight toward his journey beyond.

No, there is nothing hesitant about Exclusively Distinguished Bronze Dragonet's approach toward one significant, one verifiable, one completely and totally his human can never be termed as hesitant. Plodding along the sand, he never strays from his goal, The One he will share his life with for all eternity. Not even a blink nor a shake of his head is given to his lad's fellow Candidates, as if in doing so, he would waste precious time and energy that only belongs to V'ryce. His V'ryce. Finding the boy, he stops, talons digging into the hot sand, a willful expression of marking his place beside the lad. Finally, his head moves, aiming a very light poke at V'ryce's belly.
Inspiration
This egg's inspiration is taken from the first hatch discovered on the South Pacific island, in the television series, Lost. The series began in September, 2004 and has won numerous industry awards including the Emmy Award for outstanding drama series in 2005 and best American import at the British Academy Television Awards also in 2005.
