Storm Tossed Sea Egg
Deep dark grays tumble into whiteness over a deep sea green background, waves crashing against rocky outcroppings on a blustery winter day. Swirling patches of silvery white create the impression of the rain swept surface of a tempestuous ocean, water murky beneath. Yet as your eyes move downwards over the egg, the storm seems to clear. The side nestled within the sand turns to aquamarine mixed with bright blue, the glassy reflection of a quiet cove, which has been sheltered completely from the elements beyond.
Texture and Sound
While the upper portion of the egg feels roughened, as though the sands of the hatching grounds have been gusting across it, the lower portion, closest to the sand, is as smooth as glass.
When your ear is pressed against the upper portion of the egg you seem to hear the sound of a storm muffled by layers of wool, murmuring that sounds almost like the howling of a squall and occasionally a louder burst as if thunder from a distance.
Storm Tossed Sea Egg finally crumbles, shell falling away around its bronze occupant.
Red Sky Bronze
Streaks of morning flame paint this sinuously long dragon's sides with bronze forged in the red heart of the rising sun. From nose to tail-tip, he shimmers with the glory of matinal light reflecting off a bed of cloud, casting brighter rays against clouds' darkness that fade out into pale ghosts. Wing's span, when spread is wide, a graceful sweeping arc that belies the sometime awkwardness of his ground-bound form. Translucent sails are barely more than a veil of reflected carmine glow, delicate-seeming when cast open in flight.
Temperament
"Red sky at morning, sailors' warning, red sky at night, sailors' delight" is the old Terran proverb and so it is with Rojieth. Both in form and temperament he echoes the qualities of a red sky. At times a sign of coming storms, at others of smooth sailing and always glorious to behold.
If a dragon can be mercurial, that is perhaps the best way to describe Rojieth. You'll know as soon as your minds touch, first think in the morning, whether or not storms are forecast for later in the day of his mood. He may seem dazzlingly bright of temper on first sense, but you'll probably soon figure out that there's a characteristic tension to him, an edge to his mind voice, when there's trouble on the horizon.
This trouble might manifest itself in a number of ways that the two of you will learn about as you grow in your bond. It could be nothing more than a sudden shift from neutral remarks to biting sarcasm, or he may become intractably cranky until whatever is bothering him clears up: hunger, itchy hide, the sun not falling on his hide just right - the scope is nearly limitless.
When Rojieth is in a good mood though, you'll find him to be one of the sunniest, funniest, most energetic and delightful creatures to be around. Playfulness might well be his most natural state as a dragonet, though that may become tempered with over time as he matures. He may also surprise you with the way he puts thoughts together. Rojieth has an almost philosophical bent, for a dragon. Perhaps it's a side effect of his deeper moods, but he seems to spend more time mulling things over than most dragons would and has good memory retention for one of his kind.
Somewhat awkward on the ground, due to his disproportionate length as a youth, you may find him feeling a bit low about his inability to move gracefully through ground practices during Weyrlng training from time to time. But when he takes to the air, then the two of you will be able to bask in the delight of flight, and a physique that is meant for smooth flying. He will eventually grow into his length, and in fact will not be extraordinarily large overall for his color. Rather, his sinuous form will then carry a grace that one might usually attribute to greens. This grace may eventually serve him well in flights as he executes flying maneuvers in a smooth manner that is pleasing to watch both from the air and the ground.
Only the two of you will ultimately understand how you will grow and change together, building off of your strengths, balancing your weaknesses. What is sure, is that no matter his mood, Rojieth will always be deeply devoted to you, with a depth of love meant to sustain you through the trials and tribulations of life.
Public Impression Message
Red Sky Bronze emits a deep, throaty crooning from several steps away before he even reaches his intended quarry. The wave of sound precedes him, even as eyes meet eyes - his swirling with needful hunger, the boy's, icy blue in a round face topped by shaggy in-need-of-a-cut hair. His nose delicately bumps the young man in the chest and his tail starts to curl around him protectively, causing him to lose what balance he'd found and sit down. The joyous crooning doesn't stop however, thrumming deeply outward from the radiant dragonet.
Private Impression Message
Warmth, oddly enough seems to spread through your mind along with a deep thrumming sensation. Words, slow to form, seem to grow from within your mind rather than being spoken to you. « I am Rojieth, L'ian. I have found you. » And so with the warming sensation of the rising sun on your face, felt deep in your mind, you find yourself paired with this intriguing lifemate of bronze.
Mindvoice
When in a more philosophical frame of mind, his voice will be surprisingly quiet, more like the thrumming in the air that heralds a coming storm than the crashing booms when it breaks. During more energetic times, the sonority of a ship's bell will ring through his sendings, clear and deep.
