It is clear by the way Lilah's path takes her that she's done with the feast completely, rather than simply moving on to other dignitaries or other groups to allow them to offer their congratulations as well. Instead, the redheaded goldrider escapes to one of the smaller, seldom used tunnels that eventually lead to the junior weyrs and the Weyrleader complex beyond for the ease of those workers that need to attend to those caverns. Tonight, though, even the workers are celebrating and it leaves the tunnel quiet as she slips away.

H'vier doesn't end up very far behind Lilah. Even if he does lose her for a few moments along the way, the tunnel allows his long stride to find her again easily enough. He's not stalking her like prey, though. He wants her to know that he's there. "Leaving so soon, weyrwoman? I was hoping I'd get to see more of you."

It is only as he speaks, as the voice travels along the silence of the tunnel, that Lilah turns back on H'vier. Even in the dim light of the glows in this tunnel, the flare in dark eyes is visible as she slides a look over H'vier. Yet, her words are a murmur when she challenges, "More of me? Or my weyrling? Or your weyrling?"

"It's you who I'm following, isn't it?" And it's totally not creepy at all, the foreign bronzerider following Fort's junior through an empty tunnel. "Does it matter to you that I find your weyrling, and my weyrling, attractive, too? I enjoy women. Besides. Yours is off limits for some time yet. And mine isn't worth the effort. But you are, aren't you." It's not really a question. H'vier has already made up his mind.

"Yes, it matters," Lilah answers, though she does not say why. Maybe she can't say why; maybe it's her being one of those irrational women again. Except she steps towards the bronzerider, closing the distance between them instead of retreating from him. She reaches to catch at any part of his riding jacket that she can, fingers like steel against the leather as she curls them around it.

H'vier doesn't move away from her so it's not difficult for Lilah to find some hold on his jacket. He doesn't attempt to return the favor of touch, though, smiling down at the smaller woman. "Would you like me to go, Lilah? I'd really rather not." In case his desire matters in this particular moment.

It isn't so much said as exhaled, a simple "Shut up" on the goldrider's lips as she uses her grip on his jacket to pull herself onto her tiptoes, and from there to brush her lips against his in a seeking exploration. "All I want is to celebrate my freedom," she murmurs, though whether these words are for him of the many interests or for her own justifications--.

Well, the bronzerider apparently does have some sense for when he ought to keep his mouth shut. Figuratively, anyway, considering that his mouth is rather earnest about kissing her once she's made it obvious that she's really, actually interested. H'vier becomes more handsy around the same time, guiding her back against the wall as though he intends on giving her all the freedom she could possibly want right here in the tunnel.

The control that Lilah holds to so tightly is allowed to slip quickly from grasp, a pliancy in the way she responds to the bronzerider pressing her back against that wall. It doesn't seem as if she cares about their location, either. Not as her fingers move to try to push his jacket from broad shoulders, to try to shed at least that much of what's between them.

H'vier will even help her get him out of his jacket, letting it fall to the ground, but then his focus is very much on lifting Lilah up, encouraging her legs around him, and going through the somewhat frantic motions of removing everything else between them just enough that they can do what suddenly seems like the most important thing he could be doing, needs to be doing, with her right now. Or is that just him? Well, he's pretty excited about it, anyway.

Lilah complies with his every direction, white and grey skirts pushed up to reveal the length of cream-colored skin as his legs hitch on his hips, careless of the rough stone at her back and seemingly trusting him to support her. "H'vier," urges the goldrider on a soft moan, her dark gaze lifting to meet his as her legs tighten around him to draw him closer.

H'vier doesn't need a lot of urging once he's where he needs to be. Which isn't to say that he's only concerned with how it feels for him. In this, it seems, the bronzerider is the sort of man who takes pleasure from pleasing his partner, and he's had a lot of experience with that. He supports her easily, he's even capable of taking direction if she wants to give it, but he's not the most gentle of lovers when it comes to quickies in public tunnels.

It doesn't seem as if Lilah is looking for gentle, nor does she need it. At one point, she practically begs for him to go harder, faster; pleases slip past her lips in a way that one might not expect from her demeanor otherwise. And only after they've both found their fill, at least this once, does she move to push away, to put some distance back between herself and the bronzerider despite shaky legs and unsteady breath.

It becomes evident fairly quickly that H'vier likes those sorts of words very, very much. So he's only too happy to oblige. He doesn't move right away when she starts pushing on him. Let a man catch his breath! But he moves before she's probably likely to get upset about it, letting her down and shifting so his own back is resting against the wall just to the side of where they were, putting himself away and fastening his pants back up as he watches her for any indication of whether this is where they part ways again.

It doesn't seem as if Lilah has any more answers than he does for that, her gaze sliding over the bronzerider in a slow study as she searches for one. "I hope you're satisfied. You had your chance to prove yourself," she says finally, a dry humor to the breathless words, but her dark eyes only fall down to where he fastens himself again before lifting again to meet his. She adds, "Don't worry. This was what it was, right?"

If anyone has ever wondered what H'vier is like when he's not being his usual, horrible self, when he's a sometimes decent human being, it's basically what he's like right now. "I am satisfied," he can admit readily. He's a man who just had an orgasm. Of course he's satisfied. "What was I supposed to be trying to prove? That I think you're distractingly attractive?"

"You've gotten what you wanted; there's no need to keep flattering me," replies Lilah with easy dismissal, only the slightest hint of a sharper smile at her lips briefly before it disappears as well. "It was something about your size, I believe. Though--." She doesn't finish that thought, only lifting fingers to rake at curls that have been mussed as she glances down the hall at an imagined noise.

Oh, that. H'vier laughs. It's sincere amusement. "I'd forgotten about that. Did you think it was the only reason I wanted between your legs?" He sounds dubious, but not cruelly so. He seems less concerned about noises, imagined or otherwise. "If you let me walk you back to your weyr, I'll let you take a better look at it."

Lilah challenges in a murmur, "Are you telling me you have a reason? Not just because your other options are too hard or unable?" But the goldrider closes the space between them again, this time her fingers brushing the front of his trousers as she claims his lips in another kiss designed to silence him despite her question, before she draws away to retreat without even a look back. Maybe she expects she made her point clear.

He might actually answer that if not for her proximity again. Something close to a groan rumbles in his throat when she silences the thought with another kiss, though. And when she withdraws, H'vier doesn't speak up, whether he thinks it's pointless or if he's even thinking at all. He pushes away from the wall as though he might try to follow her again, but instead he watches after her for several moments, then turns to lean down for his jacket.

Soon enough, Lilah disappears down those tunnels, her retreating footsteps kept light despite everything.
