| Late in the afternoon of day 11, month 1 of turn 21, the dragons of Fort Weyr keened out for the loss of one of their own. Word filtered in confused fashion, but eventually an accurate story was formed and the more dramatic tellings quelled: Phara, blue Bennath's rider, had delivered her baby prematurely. With the Healers unable to treat the additional complications resulting from the early birth, the bluerider was delivered into her dragon's care and the pair went Between. The Healers are keeping a very close watch on the baby girl, Dharia, who is said to be strong and the outlook is very, very cautiously hopeful. Casual visitors are not permitted, the tiny infant being exposed only to a very few people beyond those Healers, her father and the wetnurse who has care of her. |
