With its entrance located between the kitchen and the living cavern, this
tiny bubble cavern is cozy, always kept warm and is filled with
comfortable chairs and a small round table. At the far end, there's a
hearth, outlined in ruddy, aging bricks, where a pot of stew simmers in
the evening hours. Generally quiet, the nighthearth is the haunt of
insomniacs and those seeking quiet from the bustle of daily Weyr life.

It's later in the evening. The bustle of the day has settled and Tara sits wearily in one of the chairs sipping on a mug of klah and watching the fire.

Sky enters, he's dusty and worn but still has his usual smile on his lips. He stirs the soup and klah pots before he plunks down in the seat next to Tara and sighs heavily. "Hey Tara...Can I ask you for a favor?" he cuts right to the chase.

"Hey kid, didn't I send you home already? You need to get some sleep." is the somewhat motherly reply from the head baker.

"I will...later...I can't sleep anyways. Not with everyone trapped." he looks over at her. "Did you know that it was Keysi's turnday yesterday? She's stuck in there without any of her friends for her turn day." he frowns.

Tara looks over. "Oh that's awful. We should do something for her."

Schuyler beams. "I was hoping you would say that! I wanted to make her a cake. One that is flat enough to get through the hole of course...with icing and everything." his eyes sparkle with excitement. "Buuuuut....I would need permission to use some of our flour. I'm sure the weyrleader would let us use a ration of it for something like this...cheer up the people who are trapped. Right? ...right?" he's over eager.

Tara sighs but smiles at him. "Oh, Sky...yes, I think we can arrange that. You go get things started, I'll clear it with the K'del, but I'm sure it's fine." She finishes off her klah and pushes up from her chair.

Sky swipes her mug and grins. "I'll go get it started, so I have time to let it cool and frost it tomorrow. I'll bring it with the lunch food." and with that he's off to the kitchens, a bounce in his weary step.
