To Ilicaeth, Akluseth projects « Ed wonders if you might spare yours for a bit. »

Ilicaeth sounds a little 'slow' and 'stuffy.' Maybe because he's currently 'stuffing' his tired face with tasty herbeast. « You gotta come down an' get 'er... » Because...well, it's fairly obvious the peckish blue's not going to interrupt his late night snack just to ferry his rider up. (To Akluseth from Ilicaeth)

To Ilicaeth, Akluseth projects « Blues. »

Does Ilicaeth actually scowl just a fraction at that retort? « Takin' over fer Lythronath while 'e's away? » ZING. (To Akluseth from Ilicaeth)

Only the chill of icy waves can be felt in response. (To Ilicaeth from Akluseth)

Ilicaeth> The brown wings in, allowing his charge to slip off his neck ridges and announce her arrival. "You in there, Alida?"

Up in her weyr, Alida is only belatedly informed that Edyis is arriving, the palest-blonde quickly setting aside her dragonhealer 'homework,' and rising from her creaky rocking chair, even as the weyrling calls out. "Come in!" the bluie's low bark echos just past the heavy hanging, the woman going to her little fireplace and nabbing up a cup to start pouring already-steeped tea into it.

"Are you... studying?" Edyis asks when she gets in close enough to see the aforementioned homework with a dubious lift of her brow as she pushes past the curtain. "Well, now I feel bad about trying to kidnap you off to someplace warm and a bottle of something hard to come by."

"Yep..." Alida notes crisply as she moves to walk the tea over to Edyis, a small smirk and a headshake of unplaited hair offered to the weyrling, along with the minty herb drink. "I was nearly done fer t'day, anyway. Been good, so I dun' mind callin' it a little early." The bluerider's dressed in what must constitute her lounging wear, thick and fuzzy slippers of sage green settled upon sock-clad feet, some well-worn cargo pants of faded brown and an only slightly threadbare sweater of faded yellow hanging somewhat loose over her torso. Word of 'warm' makes green eyes sparkle a little, and the guard inquires, "Ista? Southern 'n Monaco sound good, too. Ierne, too." Grin.

Edyis grins crookedly. "You have been good..." She echoes, before adding more seriously, "Didn't know you were interested in dragonhealing." There's something approving in her tone, as the former scribe lifts her shoulders, "I am open to suggestion, caveat being the closer to a tropical shoreline the better. There're a few things I've run out of that I need to replenish. Ink and paint supply mostly."

"I *am* capable uv it, now an' again..." Alida smirks wryly to Edyis as she hands off the tea to her, the older rider than shrugging in typical fashion. "Figure I had some extra time...an' I tend ta like ta be busy. Havin' a firelizard in addition t' a very physical dragon lends things ta gettin' a bit dicey, health-wise, sometimes." A flick of her vert gaze off in the general direction of the Pens and the feeding blue (who's sharing leftover bits with Pyrite) presages the blonde moving towards her large, sturdy press and pulling a key from within a pocket to open the padlock guarding it. "Sounds like Ista's it, then. Lots'a different things, an' all near various beaches!" Already it sounds like she's starting to get into this idea, 'lida squatting before her trunk and pulling out some warm-weather clothing, plus a bikini bathing suit, setting all the clothing down in a neat pile upon the rug beneath her heels. "C'n see if anyone's got yer stuff at the Hold...'r maybe one uv' the Trader caravans that hang around down there, this time uv' Turn." Headquirk, snert. "Ilicaeth wants ta come...but 'e's poopin' out." A low chortle - fond and warm enough - is followed by a look over and up to Edyis. "Told 'im ta just curl up on the Sands an' take a snooze."

Edyis grins, "Akluseth doesn't mind, He's a little put off blues at the moment, Aeaeth makes eyes at them like it's nobody's business. And, well it's Akluseth he doesn't have the whole flirting thing down at all." She nods to mention of Ista with a deep exhale. "Feels good to finally have a breath of freedom. Yeah, I'd like that, I was wondering if you'd gotten any leads on any whiskey brewers or otherwise with decent stock at a fair price. I'd like to stock my cabinets soon enough. "

Edyis' news of Akluseth comes as a bit of a surprise to Alida, the woman's eyebrows lifting just a little as she grins, re-seals her press, and lifts up her pile of clothing while standing again. "Who's the blues puttin' moves on Aeaeth? Know it ain't 'caeth." Ilicaeth who's finished stuffing the daylights out of himself, and is now lumbering sluggishly off to the empty hatching grounds with a likewise stuffed Pyrite perched on his uppermost neckridge. "Cripes...he's makin' *me* feel drowsy..." the blonde notes with a headshake and blink of eyes as she moves off behind a changing screen to get dressed for their trip. Yaaawn. "Freedom's good." Pause...and the sounds of changing are heard. "Got one lead on a distiller located on the border b'tween Bitra an' Benden. Rye an' scotch, a little flavored vodka. Gonna stick m'nose in next sevenday, when I get a chance." Since she's suddenly even more busy, these days.

"That would be Tacuseth. I don't know if it was moves being put on so much as Aeaeth being Aeaeth." Edyis answers with a nose wrinkle though the yawning seems contagious. "That birthday present of yours was fantastic by the way. Still have about a half the bottle left." The brunette leans in the doorway. "It's good to see you busy though, for a while there you seemed pretty damn miserable."

Dawning understanding of the source of Akluseth's 'inferiority complex' is reason for Alida's second blurt of quick laugher, the blonde finishing up behind her screen, then murmuring, "Yer welcome. Figured it'd be pretty welcome by this time in yer training." Snert. "Dunno about 'miserable..." She'd likely not admit it. "Unhappy, yeah. Just tryin' ta put my ducks in a row, now." Is that a faint hint of oily pleasure in her alto? Unknown, since the woman's stepping out, dressed in her tank top and lightweight pants, moving over to where she keeps her mid-calf, casual boots near the hearth, and sitting down on the rug over there to pull them on. Up again in a fluid burst of motion, she moves around to collect various things for the quick trip, putting her hair up in a ponytail, and doing something with her back turned that doesn't allow Ed to see exactly what's going on near one wall. Once that odd moment's over, there's motion towards the brownrider, and a nabbing of lightweight, broad-brimmed straw sunhat off of a peg upon rocky wall as the woman settles a pair of satchels crossed over her chest. "Ready." Grin.

There's a casual study of the blonde, dark eyes narrowed with interest though she seems to leave the adjusting alone. Of the time in training, there's something of a twist of her mouth. "You have no idea." For the bottle's usefulness. It's fortunate for them both perhaps that Akluseth is eager to get under way, Edyis pulling herself up and then offering a hand down to Alida. Fortunately, Akluseth is about the same size as Ilicaeth now, so it isn't much of a stretch if any. "It's my experience if someone's putting their ducks in a row, they might be planning on disappearing for a while. I hope that isn't the case here?"

Up she scrambles with the aid of Edyis' hand, Alida offering a companionable thump to Akluseth's shoulder once she's seated, and a grunted, "Thanks, Ak..." as she straps in. To Ed is smirked, "Nah. I probably wouldn't tell *anyone* if I was gonna take off fer awhile. What's the use in a shady disappearance if ya blabber it ta people?" Snert. Another distant look presages the blonde's low, "'Caeth w- would like ta see the image fer Ista, if both uv' ya don't mind?" While she's doing a good job of sounding casual, there's still enough caution left in both the tired blue and his rider to make them double-check this whole 'new to Betweening' pair's coordinates.

Likely the image is one shared from rider and not the brown, because it's crisp and clear, a familiar stretch of black sand beach shown at roughly the same time of day as it would be in Ista at the moment. « Fft, chill out man. I'll ferry yours with the same care and courtesy you've ferried mine. » Not that Akluseth himself remembers this, but likely pulled from his rider's recollections. Edyis checks the cargo strapping one last time and checks Alida's straps too out of habit rather than concern. Then without warning they are up, gaining altitude and making a low circle of the bowl.

« Kids... » Ilicaeth rumbles casually about a massive yawn once he's double-checked the image with the one in Alida's own mind, the heat of the Sands starting to carry the blue and Pyrite away towards slumberland, even now. Have fun, and bring him back something neat. "Lookin' good..." is the blonde's only further comment on any of their imaging, the bluie nodding once to Edyis' checking of her straps. Moving with a seasoned rider's easy grace, the blonde readies herself for Akluseth's lunge skyward, her hands only lightly balancing her at Edyis' waist until they're steadier. Squinting, the goosebump-clad bluie calls out through rushing air, "Fuckin' *freezin!*" No coat, for her, equals heavy shivering, right now.

That cold is about to get colder, because as soon as the word freezing is uttered it's the black of between and then stretched below is the black sands of Ista's shoreline. "Well, you are the one who didn't throw on flight gear over the warm weather gear." She calls over the wind as the brown circles down landing in the shallows and working his way back to the beach. "Feels good to get out of the weyr and back into the swing of things, but it's been almost a turn now, I hope I don't fuck it up, especially considering the whole re learning to interact with the outside world."

No shit! By the time they emerge from Between, Alida's teeth are literally chattering, her pale skin holding a tinge of obvious blue in places...though the kindly Istan sunshine is a relief. "F-f-fuck you..." is chattered out obligingly behind Edyis, much of her frame finally warming towards normal by the time Akluseth water-lands them and paddles towards the beach. "Thank Faranth fer the tropics!" is sighed out with ample relief by the bluie, who's making certain her boots don't get waterlogged from the brown's efforts. Listening to Ed speak of her need to adapt back to 'world normal' makes the blonde twist her lips a little in a dark smirk before she comments, "I know it's crazy fer someone like *me* ta say this...but count ta three before ya respond ta anything too different from yer ordinary experience."
