It's later in the morning, between drills and duties, that Edyis has claimed a seat on the garden patio. Picking apart bits of sweet rolls from the ample plate in front of her, and popping the bites into her mouth while she observes the activity in the bowl. A glass of milk sitting nearby to combat the sweetness. The ledge has a few other early comers, enjoying their breakfast or a late morning snack. Nearby a flame-licked brown huddles down, his tail twitching restlessly, sweeping an ark in the dirt every few minutes.

Minara walks in from the direction of the pub, carrying her own plate of breakfast goodies, along with a large mug that can still let off faint steam into the cooler morning air. She takes a seat at the table next to Edyis, nodding to the rider in greeting as she sets down her things. She finally leans back in her chairs, the warm mug held tightly between both hands as she regards the bowl for a long moment before glancing toward Edyis again. "Did he chase?" she asks, politely curious over the rim of her mug.

There's a wry twist of expression from the brownrider on the question as Minara takes a seat at the table. Her question merits some thought, it seems. "No, we went to Telgar almost immediately after she decided to wake everyone up at an unfathomable hour. He tried to argue with me about it, but, after chasing in Niahvth's, I wasn't having any of it this time." She grins then, "What about you? Are you a lock yourself in a broom closet kind of girl or perhaps you found someone to relieve the tension with?"

Minara begins to nod in response at first, as Edyis explains where they were, then she stops to grin. "No broom closets for me, thanks," she says in answer, pausing to take a sip of her tea before setting down the mug. "I've found flights to be one of the remarkable perks of living in a Weyr. Very liberating. Then again, I don't have a dragon half to consider, so maybe it's easier that way." She cuts some of the fruit on her plate with her fork, then pops a bite into her mouth before leaning back again. "Probably best to stay out of that one, by what I've heard."

Edyis grins, "There is something about getting caught up in that moment when it happens." She rolls a shoulder, "I heard Monaco made a showing, and that it was A'rist's Lythronath who won." She seems uncertain about the last, "Given the personalities of the respective parents, its bound to produce some interesting dragons." She grins, "Not that I don't get something of a twisted sense of satisfaction out of the idea of Quinlys dealing with a double clutch."

Minara nods in agreement, adding, "That's what I heard as well. And there was quiet a lot of cleanup to do, both of the weyr, and those who were in it." Her fingers tap against the side of her mug for a moment before she takes a sip. "If you're the sort who believes the pairings are meant to be, then we can relax and figure it's just the thing High Reaches needs," she offers, though a tug at one corner of her lips might indicate she's not so sure about that. "But interesting. Definitely that." As for mention of the weyrlingmaster, Min cracks another wide grin. "A double clutch in an Interval would produce about the same as a single in a Pass, right? If they could do it then, they can do it now. Though... more dragons and riders during a Pass, too."

Aniese doesn't really walk or climb up to the patio, she seems to be tottering along like an old auntie, her eyes only half open. She plops more than sits down into an empty seat and manages a fairly coherent "Morning. Afternoon. Whatever." and takes a sip from a large mug of klah.

Edyis laughs, "Are you that kind? To believe in fate?" There's a nose twitch. "Niahvth's clutch is bound to be small after that flight, and this isn't pass either." Edyis agrees. "It's not a matter of can, it's just going to wind up being a pain, unless all the pairs are magically as polite as punch. Even one clutch of moderate size can be a challenge I'm willing to wager." Ink-dark eyes lift then, to study the newcomer something like amusement uncoiling in her smile. "Good, ah, morning." She notes. "Rough night?"

Aniese's eyes are shut as she sips the klah. And sips. Finally, she sets the mug down and opens her eyes fully. This causes her to wince, blink rapidly, then try again. Her forehead has what looks like a worry line just starting and between her eyebrows is a faint frown line. She does make the effort to keep her eyes open though. "Remind me to never ever drink wine again. Not even a sip. Ouch." the last word emerges at the same time her eyes shut again. Blinking them open, but only halfway this time, the lines in her face vanish. "I need to make a sun hat." the last is more of a mutter to herself. "Glarehat. Whatever." She refocuses on the others and asks "Is this what is normal at these times in the weyr?"

Minara doesn't really answer Edyis' question, merely raising a shoulder in response as she drinks more of her tea. "I suppose time will tell. At least there's plenty of warning between now and then, right? Maybe Quinlys can conscript some new assistants or something." She turns to Aniese, then and grins slightly. "The bartenders here have a 'cure' for that. Not sure how well it works, but might be worth a try." As for normal? She looks to Edyis for that one for a moment before she picks up her fork again, and sets into her breakfast with a little more focus.

Edyis's dark eyes glitter, crinkling at the edges. "You'd have to define normal, but a gold flight pretty much results in chaos and excess in any weyr. Fortunately, they usually only happen every few turns or so." Still the brownrider watches, Akluseth's twitching ceases as he takes off in the direction of the lake. "Maybe," She says of the weyrlingmaster. "Seems like it's usually at least her and Telavi."

Aniese shakes her head carefully. "I don't think that will help to be honest. Or it won't help much? No idea." she goes back to sipping her klah for a moment. "Hmmm" Chaos and excess sounds perfect for last night. This morning. She tries opening her eyes again and manages not to wince this time. Just. "I think I'm allergic to wine." she mutters sounding disappointed. "Darn it." Taking a deep breath in an attempt to clear her aching fogged head. "I can't even think today! This is crazy."

"I don't know about 'fortunately'," Minara replies, grinning again. "I mean, I had fun," she shares with a happy little wiggle as she finishes off her fruit and returns to her tea, nodding in reply. "There's always a way." She gives Aniese a sympathetic look and glances back toward the Snowasis, though she doesn't get up. "Wine does seem to have an incredibly strong aftereffect. Maybe the Healers can give you something?"

"You aren't alergic, you just need to drink water and possibly not as much." Her eyes are laughing, even if she manages to keep it from spreading to her mouth. "Do tell?" Edyis replies to Minara as she watches that wiggle.

That little wiggle catches Aniese's attention as well though she doesn't say anything about it. "I definitely need to make something to keep the sun, or even the glare on cloudy days, out of my eyes." she decides firmly. Her eyebrows go up and her attention turns to Minara.

"Never," Minara declares, though it's with far more tease than anything else. She then grins at Aniese and shrugs. "We have all kinds of hats down in storage. Most of them are hand-me-downs, but I bet we could find something suitable. At least until the hangover has passed."

Edyis laughs! "Hopefully they were worth the effort." A little wry, as she looks to the younger woman, "Now I have to appologze because I've been sitting here and chatting with you in your hungover state, but I don't think I've caught the pleasure of your name..." She trails to Aniese then having given up perhaps on trying to place her.

"I could go check." Aniese answers Minara "Or if I can find someone with a ball of yarn, I could make one just as easily. I brought my hooks with me." The slightly greenish tinge to her skin vanishes as a nice red creeps up into her face. To Edyis, she blurts "Oh! I'm sorry, I'm Aniese. I've only been here a little while. I'm from one of the cotholds up that way." and she waves a hand in a vaguely northward direction. She decides to try to hide that blush behind the big mug of klah and she takes several more sips.

"Every bit," Minara replies, settling back in her chair, looking pleased. She turns to Aniese to catch the introduction, then grins. "Well, whatever you'd prefer. An already existing hat would be a far more immediate solution, of course." She takes another drink, then breaks a piece off her breakfast roll. "My name's Minara, by the way," she adds, nodding to the new girl.

Edyis grins, "No need to be sorry, I am not around the lower caverns as much as I used to be. I'm Edyis of brown Akluseth. At your service." There is a shift of her gaze over to Minara and another smile.

Aniese's face isn't quite as red as a moment ago, but the blush is still there. She sets the mug down again and manages a "pleased to meet you." A sudden thought makes her smile. "This is the first time I've been outside in a-" she hesitates as she thinks for a few seconds "well, a few days anyway. I keep myself busy or I'm snoring in my cot."

Minara arches a brow at Aniese, then grins at Edyis, as if implying something. Though she's only teasing, going by the silly grin that follows. "It is awfully good to get out once in a while. I've been trying to follow that advice myself the last several days. It's done wonders."

Edyis chuckles a little darkly. Pushing to her feet as she finishes. "Pleasure is all mine." She announces to the ladies. "Thank you for the conversation and company, but I have drills and shouldn't be late. Hope to see you both around."

Aniese's face is forming that worry/frown look again. "I think I'm going to go hide in the dark again until the miner and his hammer get out of my head, then I'll go look in the stores for those hats." Another hesitation. "And a ball of yarn if I can find one."

Minara waves to Edyis as she takes her leave, then she finishes off her own breakfast and tea and starts to rise. "I'm also going to have to be on my way. Though I'm on my way to the stores now. I'll keep an eye out for you." She then waves, wishing Aniese good luck with the headache, and steps down from the patio to resume the rest of her day.
