Eggs and Not Blooded Anything
RL Date: 31 August, 2013
Who: Azaylia, Z'ian
Involves: High Reaches Weyr
Type: Update
What: Hraedhyth lays a clutch of twelve.
Where: High Reaches Weyr
When: Day 2, Month 9, Turn 32 (Interval 10)

Just as late night was rolling into early morning of Day 2, Month 9, Hraedhyth waddled her increasingly testy self into the hatching cavern. Only Weyrwoman Azaylia was allowed to follow, more than likely suffering on the sands with her queen, who clutched a total of 12 eggs. Despite her fatigue, the senior queen's ferocity doubled that morning and has yet to fade as she savagely guards her brood against... well, everything! And, /everyone/. Hraedhyth's intensity has little to do with a gold egg, and though Azaylia claims there isn't one, there are some folk who are /so/ sure that it's a guarantee with such a healthy bronze and gold coupling.

A day or so after, the Weyrleader and his dragon are they only other souls permitted in the galleries-- which is a shame, given the cooling weather. The clutchparents get along well, with perhaps too much aggressive admiration on Hraedhyth's part when it comes to her mate. Tsanth is also protective of the eggs, and permitted to travel where few are: onto /Hraedhyth's/ sands. There's no sharing this time... at least not yet?

Slowly but surely, the galleries will be open to the rest of the Weyr and its folk, for those who can stomach the queen's unblinking stare. The best time to sneak a peek would be when she /finally/ succumbs to sleep, but then there's the danger of waking her up, isn't there?

As far as Searching goes, the Weyrleaders are in agreement: try keep it inside the Weyr. In fact, Z'ian has put a restriction on searching anyone who's Blooded-- so it'd be best to let your dragon mentally whine and fidget rather than pluck up another Hold's heir during sweeps. Seriously... Don't do it. No dragons will be sent out with the /intention/ of Searching at the Holds and are reminded to take extra care when in Tillek or Nabol. High Reaches Hold isn't as much as a concern, considering the restriction on non-Glacier riders has yet to be lifted. Though, riders with family at the Hold are still able to visit...
