| During dinner on the evening of the 18th day of the 3rd month of turn 20, Cirse's Peirith rose somewhat unexpectedly in a hard and fast flight. With R'uen and Zaiventh out of the Weyr, the field was left open for a new Weyrleader to step in. T'rev's bronze Mecaith won Peirith making the younger of the two former Telgari clutchmates Fort's new Weyrleader. Rumors fly that the bronzerider, who has a reputation a mile long for being a charming ladies' man, barely lingered for more than an hour in the Weyrwoman's weyr after the flight. He was seen leaving, fully dressed to go to the Weyr's baths, after which he was further spotted in the corridors of the Weyr speaking to various of the residents and riders. Late-shift kitchen workers reported that he turned up in search of one of the apprentice Bakers commonly known to be one of his lovers and that he spirited the girl away for about an hour after which the apprentice, Jaeyi was seen making her way back to the dorms in tears. Has the new Weyrleader finally learned a lesson about discretion and propriety? Has he dropped the girl in light of his new rank and the impropriety of a Weyrleader being involved with an apprentice? It would seem so as no female visitors have been observed joining T'rev for the glide up to his weyr in the days since the flight in spite of a surge in female attention with the change of knot and a leader who is not known to have any firm attachments. The new Weyrleader also has yet to take up residence in the weyr commonly held for his position. R'uen remains in residence in the weyr for the time being. |
