D'kan and Kazavoth are making their way along the shore, but from the other direction. It is inevitable that they eventually run into each other. Kazavoth notices her first and picks up his pace to the point that his rider needs to move at a a pretty quick clip just short of a jog. If it's cool enough to still see breath, D'kan's would be coming in short puffs by now. Not labored, just heightened. "Nice day!" he calls out, waving to Hana. Hana looks up - and it's a measure of how much the last visit settled her mind, that she doesn't break away. Instead, there's a laugh that carries, and a shake of the head, "Good afternoon there, Kade - and Kazavoth, as well! It certainly is - I can't wait for the spring to fully arrive!" "Well, he thinks he would have looked pretty fantastic surrounded by white," D'kan shares with Hana as he gives Kazavoth a wry look. "I just remind him that once he's flying, he can have all the snow he wants. That might have been a bad idea, though. He flies before we're told we can, we are so screwed." He doesn't look all that worried, though, and the little brown has found a suitably dry, sandy spot where he can sit back on his haunches. His attention is wandering for now. So much to take in. "He really loves the lake." "Hope you want all the white as well - isn't that one of the things, no flying without the rider?" Hana asks after a moment, before carefully offering a hand to the little brown, before nodding at said rider. "It is a lovely place - so big, and those falls." Kazavoth bumps the outstretched hand with the gentlest nudge of his snout, like a brief acknowledgement. "There are a whole lot of rules and stuff to remember," D'kan answers with a quiet laugh. "Right now the main one is to help keep them from getting hurt. Lots of exercise, but no flying. Just walking around the Weyr still tires him out. Which is good, 'cause I need a bath, like, yesterday." He doesn't really smell that bad. Yet. "Still settling in, now the Holders have left?" Hana gives a light pet over the skin, "Well, you have to start somewhere - and I wasn't going to say a thing," she teases D'kan, before grinning. "Have you considered a bath /with/ Kazavoth here? That might save some time. And help you with a new look. What was it called... oh, right. Drowned wher." "Hardly, I'd freeze my... hair off," D'kan delicately replies, "and sponge baths are only satisfying for so long." Kazavoth, perhaps intrigued by the bathing idea, moves between them toward the water, making small squishing noises when his paws reach the wet silt and sand. When that first dark paw reaches the water, D'kan shivers suddenly and huddles inside his jacket. "Speaking of starting somewhere," he probably needs a distraction right about now, "were you able to find Azaylia yet to see about work? Or spoken to the seamstresses? Weavers? Shells, sorry. All I know is the laundry side of things, thanks to Mum." "I've talked with the weavers and seamstresses - there'll be plenty of work for me to do. I haven't.. quite.. caught Lady Azaylia, but I'm pretty sure that will be more of a long-term project," Hana admits with a hint of a grin and a shake of the head. "So I'm practicing on Mave, when I've the chance. Hair for now, but I'm pondering about a dress - after all, if it's a gift, she can't give it back." "Mave," D'kan repeats, frowning as he watches Kazavoth wander into just barely deeper water (though it seems a lot deeper to him). "Oh! Wait, I know who that is." There's a pause, then he looks at Hana again. "A dress is a pretty expensive gift, isn't it?" "Hm... of time; I have some ideas about the fabric - and it won't be fancy like mine was for the party. She actually had borrowed one of my older, plainer ones, and that was almost too fancy for her, so I'll have to think about it." There is a pause, then a rueful grin, "Actually getting her into the dress is a challenge in and of itself. Azaylia at least owns a dress or two." D'kan is... not a dress expert. It's all over his face, really, in clueless confusion. "I... uh. She'll probably appreciate having one of her own, then, right?" Speaking of floundering, there's a sudden splash from the direction of the lake, where Kazavoth has managed to break through a skim of ice. There is a tensing from D'kan, a preparation for action, but then he relaxes into a grin. Kazavoth meant to do that. Really. Because... then he can scrabble onto the rest of the remaining ice! All his! Even Athimeroth can't take this one away. Hana turns at the sound of splashing and ice, and just blinks. "Is... he supposed to do that? Won't he catch a cold? And I'm not sure how I'll do it yet, but it's something to keep my mind busy, and my head out of trouble," she admits. "He barely feels the ice, it seems," D'kan answers, rolling a shoulder before grinning at Hana. "Oh, I know about that sort of thing. Busywork gets a bad rap, but it's not really a bad thing." He glances out at his dark, speckled brown, who's gone on to explore his iceberg kingdom. "I have to admit, though, it's hard to imagine you getting into trouble." "Well, my attempt to stay out of trouble may have led me into trouble. There was a point made that.. this might not be the best time to join the Weyr, without a purpose." There is a pause, then Hana lifts a shoulder, "On the other hand, going to Crom to meet someone my parents insist I consider contracting to seems much more troublesome. I am fortunate Lady Azaylia and Lord Devaki are helping me sidestep in the issue. The fact I'll be near one of my favorite dance partners is just a bonus," Hana admits with a faint teasing edge, working to nudge herself out of the thoughts she had been trying to avoid. "... not even feeling it? Well, that's good for him. I'd freeze at the very thought!" D'kan rubs his hands against his face, where truth be told, he could probably use a shave in addition to that bath. "Who told you that?" he asks Hana, his frown mildly confused. "Seems to me, people are coming and going around here all the time for one reason or another." He shrugs a little and turns to check on Kazavoth who... may be pushing out a bed of crusty snow in the middle of his iceberg. Sure enough, he curls into a little brown ball and rests his chin on his outstretched paws, tail curling just over his snout. "Shells, not Crom. May as well exile yourself." He's... mostly kidding, as the frown is replaced by his crooked smile. "Speaking of dances, when's the next Harper shindig? I think I owe you at least another dance or two at this point." Hana lifts a shoulder, "Lower Cavern gossip, really." And isn't that something to get used to, living it up with all the folks in the lower areas. She follows his glance, then blinks bemusedly. "... I hope he's not a heavy sleeper - getting out there might be rather difficult. And wet." There is a wrinkle of the nose, and a nod, "Rather exile myself," she overstates the case before grinning. "I will never disagree with that statement. Never, ever, ever." "Well, you just tell them to mind their own sharding business," D'kan instructs, as seriously as he does anything else. "Those exact words. 'Own sharding business'." He winks at her and glances out toward Kazavoth. "Oh, he's really just resting. Should've seen it coming, I guess. Fifteen minutes and he'll get up again." Hopefully. "Otherwise, I'll just wait here for him. I like to let him explore a little bit, you know?" Sure enough, the tip of that brown tail flicks suddenly, just a quick movement up and down. He's watching yooouuuu. "Anyway, 'Reaches beats exile any day. Probably just someone worried they'll get shown up or something." "I try not to use those words, you know," Hana points out mildly, before shaking her head as the tail starts to twitch. There is a bit of a grin, before she asks, "So. Is he as bad as a little after getting into the sweetner, then?" she teases a bit before nodding resolutely, "Of that I am certain. At least here I can continue with my minor enjoyments. And I think, in this case, that means I should try to hunt down my target. See you, both, later?" D'kan considers Hana's question for a while, dark eyes studying the snoozing brown. "He has his moments," he finally answers before turning to her with a small smile. "But so far, it's been all right." He gives her a single nod in reply to her last. "We'll be around! Good luck with the hunting." Meanwhile, Kazavoth is already showing signs of rousing himself again and has begun stretching limbs and wings while still lying on the snow. D'kan might still be in for a wait. Hana grins impishly, "I'm a professional, Kade," though a professional at what, well, never mind that. The rousing dragon gets a bit of a wave, D'kan's arm gets a pat, then she's off back to the land of warm, there to find likely prey. |

This was so nice. Kazavoth claiming his kingdom was cute! And... Hana's words for Azaylia's hair/clothing are somewhat ominous. ._.
