It's late afternoon, things are winding down for the most part, and Bria is left to wander during a time that she can watch people without really getting in the way. Currently she's heading toward the hearth, drawn toward the light rather than the warmth. She has enough of the latter to go around, a bright smile offered to someone sitting on the sofa before she's kneeling down and sitting back on her heels near but not too close to the fire.

It's been an active day for E'ten given the fact that he emerges from somewhere further inside the Weyr, jacket slung over one shoulder with his hair only slightly darker than usual in thanks to - the baths. While there may be a straight path for the living caverns, the hearth is briefly considered before another idea comes to mind. One that dove tails with the young woman's arrival, except he doesn't get that close. Only enough to gesture to a nearby seat, "You don't mind another sitting so close do you?"

There's the sound of a brief thud, and a hastily apology, some scuffling, and laughter from those nearby as they watch the tall, awkward form of Razi trying to back out of the laundry room with a large basket in his hands. It eventually leads to the candidate edging out /sideways/, and once he's through, he slouches, trying not to draw /more/ attention, gaze quickly flickering away from the nearby aunties giggling in his direction.

Bria glances up at the sound of the man's voice from where she's kneeling down and settled back on her heels near the hearth. Then she's looking at the seat he gestures to. Her response is a little delayed, like she's not entirely sure it's her he's asking, before she's shaking her head. "No, of course not. Please," she glances at it again like an invitation then smiles at E'ten until her attention is drawn briefly in the direction of giggling.

Oreithiya is on the move today; finished with her beast craft lessons, the girl's rushing off to change in time to help prepare dinner, and wash the dishes that people use. Fresh from the baths -- who wants a dirty girl serving and making their food? -- she's on her way to the barracks to change. Which means currently, she's wearing a towel and carrying her boots in hand while the other clutches the towel closed. She /almost/ knocks into someone in her rush, pausing to go, "Oh, oh I'm sorry!"

Before having a chance to reply to Bria, there's the sound of a thud and apology that causes the rider to look over one shoulder. It shouldn't surprise him and yet, there's the slightest twitch of his lips in response to the candidate carrying the basket. Between that, Rei's appearance and Bria's response, he answers the latter with a dismissive shake of his head. "Just tell me if I'm interrupting. By the way, I'm E'ten. Adiulth's rider. Are you one of the new faces to the Weyr as of late?"

Slouching, Razi slinks /away/ from those aunties and their light-hearted whispers, casting looks over his shoulder, such that Oreithiya nearly gets acquainted with his basket, before her apology makes him swing his head back to the front. "Oh," he rumbles, in his Fort Sea accent. "Are you..." he squints at her, at her knot, then frowns briefly, hovering there uncertainly with the basket in hand. "My fault," he finally concludes, shifting the basket, waiting for the other candidate to proceed him.

There's a towel on the loose. That's where Bria's eyes focus and they go a little wide, not exactly scandalized but definitely surprised as she watches Oreithiya. "I, uh," she begins before forcing her gaze back to E'ten like everything perfectly fine. Which isn't too hard considering he's just introduced himself as a dragonrider and this is still a novel idea to her. "I'm Bria," she tells him with a smile. "And... yes. I suppose I am. But you're not interrupting at all. I'm not sure why anyone would say something like that." *Smile.*

Bria, Razi, E'ten -- all of them get startled looks from Oreithiya, who is decidedly not wearing much other than a white towel. "Oh dear!" In what would be almost a wardrobe malfunction were the small girl not so nimble on her feet, she manages to call out a hasty, "Sorry, sorry," as she maneuvers around the crowded commons. Then with a final, curious look to Bria and E'ten, then Razi, she's darting into the Barracks. Only to rush out again moments later, going, "I'm late! I'm late! I'm late, for a very important ---" Poof, gone!

E'ten considers the towel-clad Rei to be an amusement of sorts. Not that he's looking any longer than necessary, for the poor girl's sake as she darts away. But it's with that glimmer of contained laughter that he regards Bria with an aside, "That might happen more often now that we have candidates for the clutch. Like him, if I'm not mistaken." Meaning Razi, who is the recipient of a tilted head in the lad's direction. "Where do you hail from, if I might ask. As for interrupting? You'd be surprised how many would say I was and to pleasantly go away," he notes, letting more of the smile emerge now that Oreithiya has now passed.

Razi is... definitely watching Oreithiya retreat, probably longer than necessary, for his part. He /is/ a teenage boy, after all. He's tilting the basket in his distraction such that some of the top-most /clean/ laundry starts to slide off and onto the floor, despite his belated attempts to catch them. He notices, vaguely, E'ten's tip of head towards him, but he's busy trying to rescue his laundry for now, flickering a glance in that direction - listening, no doubt.

Her eyes are still a little wider than their natural state as Bria's gaze flickers back to Oreithiya while she bee-lines through the commons. But once she's out of sight, the Bollian looks toward Razi instead since E'ten labels him as one of the Weyr's candidates. "Candidates run around with towels a lot?" she asks, not certain what point he was trying to make. "Oh. Well. Boll, I suppose." Her accent could probably say as much if she said more than a few words at a time, though it has a strange Fortian twang to it. "I assure you you aren't interrupting anything. Do riders hang about down here often?"

"Some do." While Razi might be of the snooping sort, it doesn't bother E'ten as he settles against the edge of one chair before stretching out both legs in front of him. "Mostly, they're in a rush back and forth. But Boll?" Whatever that means, it's not noted yet. Instead, he gives a slight shrug of his shoulders. "I wouldn't be surprised if more wandered through. It's close to the workroom and other parts of the Weyr that we need to be in. You've been out in the Bowl lately," he asks, regarding Bria with a moment's glance that's more curious before it turns unfocused. Brief, but maybe not forgotten.

Piling the laundry on top of the basket - even though it looks a little less /white/ than it should - Razi struggles the basket over and sets it on a chair near the hearth that Bria and E'ten are gathered at. He then precedes to do a little 'dusting' of the top-most sheets, before gaze flickers to E'ten - noting the knot - then focuses on Bria instead. "A hand?" he asks in his best dock-side accent, holding out an edge of a sheet to her, expectantly. If he's /interrupting/, he's unaware.

Focused on E'ten as she is, Bria doesn't really notice Razi as he approaches. She squints for a moment at the rider, absorbing this information and probably just taking the opportunity to look at him in general. She hasn't seen *many* this close and there's a sense that she's looking for something in particular about him. Probably nothing she's capable of actually finding. "Not since early. I was hoping it would be warmer out." But, well... it wasn't. And it hasn't been. What's a Bollian to do? Razi's question makes her eyes dart toward him and she doesn't seem entirely sure what he's suggesting at first. "Oh. Uh, sure," she says with a smile, rising up to her feet and dusting off imaginary things from the legs of her pants before she reaches out to help.

"You might want to clean those again." It's with an absent tone that E'ten remarks on the laundry found in Razi's basket with a faint press of his lips in contemplation. "If, the stains aren't easy to come out. And that explains why Adiulth wanted a better look at you," he says, commenting to both though it's Bria that he regards a bit longer with a tilt of his head bowlwards. "And he used me to do so. He's on a notion that you'd be well for the eggs on the Sands. If you want to Stand. Though..." With a brief grin towards Razi, he remarks, "You'll have to help him with the chores at some point, I suppose."

A sudden tip of head from Razi as he regards Bria closely - a flicker of recognition of that accent. When he responds, there's something subtly /Bollian/ in his tone, unintentionally echoing her, perhaps. "Thanks. I'm bad at folding neatly." He moves to take the far ends, with the intention of bringing them together, neatly - although he's not so worried about the /neat/ part of it. "What? I just washed them-" he begins, but the protest trails off as E'ten continues, going still and gaze going towards Bria, curious and /interested/ in her answer as much as the question.

Clean them again? Bria glances down at the bit of sheet she's taken to examine its cleanliness. But as soon as E'ten says something about eggs, she sort of forgets about the sheets and looks over at the rider with furrowed brows. Her expression is dumbfounded more than anything and she's clearly struggling for words before she decides on, "What? *Me?* Are you sure?" There's a beat and then her cheeks are coloring. "Of course you're sure. I just... I mean yes! I do! Do you really mean it?" So she's learned to be a little suspicious during her time at Fort Hold but she's smiling like a fool all the same now, still not really helping with Razi's poor sheet other than holding that bit of it.

"Maybe it's only those that were marred," E'ten says by way of consideration for Razi's sake, standing and pushing himself away from the chair for a better look at the basket. If only to let Bria have time to contemplate the new prospect. "And I'm sure. Enough so that Adiulth wanted another look at you by whatever means possible. If you want, I can take you outside for a brief introduction. But rest assured. I am asking and yes it's absolutely true. I'd say to help Razi here before going to see the Headwoman to check in and to gather your things. If you need help, I could assist."

Well, Razi seems just as unhelpful, given he's kind of standing there watching the whole thing. His glance keeps darting towards Bria's face, like she's familiar in some way. It's only when she says yes, that the other candidate shuffles forward to collect that sheet's edge from her. He's forgotten about that dirty comment already; the way he's folding it, no one will notice! "There's plenty of cots left in the barracks," is all he supplies by way of contribution to the conversation. He's distracted, concentrating on getting that sheet into a smaller, more manageable size.

There's a good possibility that Bria will recall Razi's words at a later time. But right now she's all caught up in herself and this new amazing thing that's happening. Maybe a little overwhelmed, too. She barely glances over when Razi takes the sheet back and she's nodding her head earnestly at E'ten. "That would be amazing. Please!" Everything else seems a little less important at the moment to Bria. There's a dragon to be met! Okay, one glance over at Razi who says something but all she can do right now is *beam* at him.

It may be an 'I told you so' moment forming but E'ten observes and lets the comment stay. He did warn the lad. He'll have to deal with the consequences. For now, he's reaching for his jacket to shrug into with a hand gesturing towards the bowl. "Let's introduce the two of you then we can get you settled in one of the cots that were mentioned," he says, nodding to Razi before looking to Bria. "We won't stay too long, for your sake. He's used to the cold." The newly minted candidate may not. "You'll also have help if needed, Razi." By who, he doesn't say, given that he's not quite herding the young woman out. Rather, it might be the exact opposite with her eagerly waiting for him to lead the way.

"I have to finish," Razi gestures towards the laundry in response to E'ten, apparently not that keen to meet a dragon up close and personal again, after his last experience. /Laundry/ is preferable. "I'll see you later," he says to Bria, and belatedly adds, "I'm Razi," as he reaches for the next not-so-clean sheet to fold.

Quite eagerly waiting for E'ten to lead the way, in fact! Bria pauses, bright-eyed and still smiling to say, "Bria," in response to his offered name. No doubt they'll meet again soon on less exciting terms so they can have a proper interaction.
