What: A new Weyrleader and a plague has caused some changes in the wings.

Fortians have had some time to recuperate, physically if not always emotionally, and N'rov & Co. have had time to reassess. On the last day of month 7, after the wingleaders' meeting, word filters through subsequent wing meetings (and faster via gossip) that yes, there will be structural and leadership changes. While the Weyrleader underscores the importance of stability, he's also handed down unusual news: instead of only promoting the tried and true (or a wingleader's best buddies, add the cynical), there's also a call for volunteers. Those qualified might get a wingsecond or even wingleader spot now, as a trial run or otherwise, if the fit is right; those not qualified can be trained. Naturally, work ethic is important, but this is Everyrider's chance! (Chance to do more work! But at least it's for full pay these days, right?)
