Your location's current time: 14:05 on day 26, month 8, Turn 58, of the Tenth Pass. It is a summer afternoon.

Shipfish Island - Fine Sand Beach Tall, slim-trunked trees creep through the sandy soil almost down to the beachfront, where slender sea grasses and bright green withies populate the narrow stretch of sand. The warm breeze carries a whisper of southern clime to your senses as you stroll along the oceanside. The sand here is perfectly fine and smooth, unmarred by brush or rocks. Driftwood lies scattered randomly across the shore, worn smooth and bleached by the sun, and every so often a small seabird will dodge the wavelets in its pursuit of prey. Hot summer evening gathers as a soft breeze ruffles your hair beneath the clear skies. A small, winding, and almost grown-over path leads away to the west into the dense forest, while to the south the beach grows rocky, hiding all manners of almost inaccesible nooks and crevices within its stony, sea-worn grasp. +view is available here. Contents: Ayana Kyreth Leiventh Obvious exits: Stone Shelter Shale Beach Overgrown Path

It's near evening on the island, which the Igen pair is found on the sandy beach. While Kyreth is floating serenely in the ocean, Ayana has spread out a nice large blanket, with an open basket and wine skins lying beside it. There's a small blue box next to those things, hidden somewhat, but can be seen from an angle. The set-up looks simple, but there's a definite romantic feel to it since the brownrider is decked out in a light blue halter top and matching skirt instead of her usual Igen leathers. Sitting on the blanket, she has her eyes both to her lifemate and the sky, grinning.

R'hin's roughly on time, the unmistakable form of the angular cinnamon 'Reaches bronze appearing in the air above. Leiventh takes his time in landing, circling lazily downwards as if enjoying and testing the thermals still rising above the island from the heat of the day. Soon enough, he drops downwards towards the stretch of beach with only the slight flicker of sand displaced by the sweep of wings. Dismounting smoothly, the jaunty bronzerider quickly divesting himself of riding gear in deference to the still-warm air. "Swimming, sleeping, or flying?" the query apparently directed to his dragon. The answer's soon clear, as the bronze tenses and is aloft again in moments, circling upwards. With a twitch of lips, R'hin turns his attention to the beach's sole occupant, smile brightening as pale eyes settle first on Ayana, then the accompanying spread. "My, my. She comes prepared," he murmurs as his stride increases to cover the distance between them.

Ayana stands, watching him come up to her with a winsome smile. "Well, I did promise to wine and dine you, didn't I?" she states with a wink, offering him a hug. "I was hoping you weren't busy. After you and Baye left the party, I haven't heard from neither of you." She waves to the basket set-up, "It's not much, but I have real good wine, this time," she offers with a small blush as her gaze stays on him. Kyreth gives a warbled greeting to Leiventh, seeming content to float on by.

"True," R'hin concedes with a low laugh, "But I'd thought that was just a ploy to get me into your bed." The glint of amusement is clearly visible in pale eyes as he steps over to Ayana, arms sliding about her, fingers resting in the crook of her back. A gentle kiss is offered to her cheek, before he replies, "I thought it best to keep some distance. I imagine that brother of yours has as many of his so-called people watching you as me." A twitch of shoulders follows, an edge of tension felt through the lines of his body against hers. Leiventh rumbles a low greeting to Kyreth as he passes the brown from overhead, apparently content to circle on the warm air above the island.

Ayana settles into his arms, a low chuckle given, "A ploy? I don't need a ploy to bed you, do I?" she asks in a mildly innocent voice. She would tease more, only her words die in her throat as her brother is mentioned. Feeling the tension, she rubs his back and nods to the blanket to sit. Shaking her head, she reaches up to rub his cheek, "Are you alright?" she asks gently, "What happened that night? If Baye said anything..." and there's a hint of anger in her eyes as she looks away. "That shardin' brother of mine," she growls. After a pause, she gives a grim smirk, "His so-called people...yeah, I bet they keep watch, but I know atleast 'half' of them and they don't want to get on my bad side."

"Probably not, but I'm not adverse to such things," R'hin admits, pale gaze travelling over Ayana's outfit with obvious approval. Another twitch of shoulders, and his hands drop from around her as he moves to take a seat on the blanket, one hand trailing along her arm to bring her next to him. There's a distinct pause before he answers, as if choosing his words carefully... or judging by the tightening of jaw, trying to keep his words even, "Many things were said. He threatened me. I... I did the same back, because I won't roll over for him, for -anyone-," the last comes out almost as a growl, anger leaking through. "Your brother seems to think he knows better than you, what's best for you. I'm not one of those things. He doesn't trust me." A beat, then mildly, "Perhaps you shouldn't, either."

Ayana moves to sit next to the bronzerider, her own hand lingering on his arm as she listens. When she hears that Bayan's threatened, she tightens her lips and shakes her head. At hearing she shouldn't trust him either, she gives him a long look before saying "And by default, you shouldn't trust me...that's neither here nor there." She sighs, leaning back against him, "You want Bayan to back off you? Talk to Kam. He maybe full of madness, but he's the sensible one. Once he sees you're not out to destroy his business, he'll keep things at bay. He may not have to like you, but he'll respect honesty." She nods firmly to that before shifting to look into R'hin's eyes, "Bayan can be over-protective. He accepts Delu to a point, for example. He's the type to respond to agression. Don't take it to be a big deal that he doesn't trust you, because apparently he doesn't have much trust in me either." Anger leaking through, "Enough is enough. If you want, I can get Kam to meet with you. Leave Bayan to me."

"That's different," R'hin begins, then pauses. "You're not like your brother. I know that. I think maybe he thinks you are." With a twist of lips, his arm slides around the front of Ayana's waist, pulling her against him. "I've been trying to talk to Kamer. Bayan seems reluctant to set up a meeting. Reluctant, or something else. I'm not sure," he says, slowly. With an exhale of breath, he says, "I doubt Bayan and I will ever see eye to eye on anything. You, most of all." He leans to brush lips against her temple, as if reassuring her. "I'll settle things with Kamer. I'm just worried Bayan might take things into his own hands. If only he'd go back to Fort," he says, a hint of frustration in his voice, "He has that goldrider there. I'm sure we'd both be happier out of each other's hair, and I can't exactly leave the 'Reaches myself."

Ayana considers his words as she pulls out a wineskin and pops the seal. Taking a drink, she hands it over to him, "I'm like them, but at the same time I'm not," she admits with a shrug. "I can understand why they do or act the way they do. Some of the darkness in them, I see in myself." At that, her eyes go to Kyreth for a moment. Settling close to R'hin, "Bayan might be reluctant, or it's on Kam's end," she states carefully. "He's a busy man, and even 'I' don't get to see him. Still, I have...ways, to lure him. I personally have some words with the both of them, and I'll force their hand if that means dangling Kam upside down by Ky's claw." She grins at the mental picture. "Don't let Baye get to you. I have a feeling...I think I know why he's being agressive like this, and I've been meaning to talk to him about it." Her brow furrows at this in thought. She grins against him, fingers reaching up to touch his hair, "Bayan 'could' take things into his hands, but not without Kam's permission," she muses slowly. "As for Fort, I don't know what's the deal with him and the goldrider. If I was mean enough, I'd use her against him with Kam....he'd definitely back off then...but I wouldn't."

R'hin accepts the wineskin, swirling it around briefly before taking a gulp, thoughtful a moment. Not for considering what to say, it seems: "Benden white. Two Turns old?" he guesses. There's a faint chuckle that follows a short while later, eyes drifting likewise to Kyreth, before he responds, "Amusing as it would be, I doubt it'd lend Kamer to feeling generous towards riders in general, or myself in specific." His brow furrows in curiousity. "I know you can take care of yourself, but I don't like the idea of you and Bayan having it out. If we hadn't been at Ista, I suspect blood would've been spilt that night." He passes the wineskin back, eyes half closing as she touches his hair. "L'sen said he was going to talk to Bayan about it all. Maybe he made some headway, I don't know." Of the latter comment, he pointedly makes no mention.

Ayana grins, then chuckles, "You know your wine," she says in approval with a nod. "I don't buy wine often, especially good ones, so consider yourself special." With a wink and she settles back against him, "No, Kam would have a fit being put upside down," she says, waving it off in amusement, "It's just too bad I'm not strong enough to do it myself. You're right though, good impressions with that one goes a long way." At the mention of her and Bayan having it out, she blinks and looks up at him, "Who, me? Oh no, I wouldn't fight him or anything! I just need to talk to him is all. I think he's feeling....well, guilt. Many turns back, before I ran away, they left me." She's quiet for a moment, perhaps thinking of those days long ago before she takes the wineskine and drinks. "L'sen's a good choice," she muses, "though he won't have as much clout as Kam. Someone in the outside owes me a favor. A few notes passed, maybe a talk with Baye, and you'll have your meet." Said with confidence as she gives R'hin a smirk, "I have my resources, too." She reaches into the basket and pulls out a piece of fruit, offering it to him.

A twitch of brows follows that statement, R'hin saying blandly, "Shouldn't you be sharing this with Delu, then?" Fingers idly trace a circle on her waist, playing over the material of her top. "They left you?" That particular bit of news is of surprise to the bronzerider, judging by the tone of voice. "Given how protective they seem, that's... okay, no. It makes sense," he finally concludes, with a shake of head. "Too little too late, but understandable. Family's family." He exhales slowly in faint relief, sounding grateful, "You're a marvel, Aya. And I'm going to be a gentleman and not ask. Probably better for all involved," he says, twitch of lips conveying his amusement before he accepts the fruit, munching slowly, eyes glittering as he murmurs, "Hm, you know, I've a brilliant idea. How about we skip the wining and dining part?"

Ayana chuckles, "She doesn't drink," she says simply, fingers back to playing in his hair. At his inquiry, she nods, "They left me to my mother, and didn't come back," she states soberly, tensing slightly at the talk of her mother. "Baye's guilty. Kam could care less." Grinning impishly then as the fruit is accepted, "Yeah, yeah, I'm that and more," she drawls boldly, "and we can skip whatever you want, but first..." and she leans to grab the small blue box by the basket, handing it to him with a slight blush, "Uh, it's from me, and all...hope you like," she says in mild amusement.

Ayana gave you Blue Stone Necklace.

This small necklace is made of a rich, dark brown twine, twisted together to become indestructible from wear or tear. The center ties together to hold a pale light blue stone, small in size. It has an oval cut with a smooth back, where if looked close enough there's an inscription simply written 'Love, Aya'.

"She doesn't?" R'hin seems surprised, then thinks about it a moment. "I didn't notice at the Sandbar," he admits, though talk of the greenrider seems to fade at Ayana's acceptance of his proposal, a low chuckle emanating from the bronzerider at her bold words. The scruffy-haired rider's head tips to one side as he's presented with a box, looking a tad bemused. "It's not even my Turnday," he drawls, taking note of that blush with interest, attention shifting to the box. Opening it slowly, he stares down at the necklace a moment before drawing it out of the box, holding it up and examining it closely. His fingers pass across the inscription on the back with a faint furrowing of brow, silence his odd reaction.

Ayana nods a bit, "Yeah, I've only seen her drink when proddy," she says, shaking her head. At his words, she smirks, "Not really a turnday gift," she says, "just something nice." and she seems about to say more until she notes his look at the necklace. Smirk fading alittle, she glances at the necklace as well before looking at his face, noting the silence. Looking thoughtful, "You don't like it," she states more than ask, watching his face. Chuckling a bit and shaking her head, "I knew I should have gotten them to write something else, those wherry-soddened..."

"No," R'hin finally says, slowly, "I like it. It's just..." he trails off, fingers curling around the stone, pale eyes focusing on Ayana with a hint of query, "'Love'?" His expression seems oddly guarded, amusement of earlier having slipped away.

Ayana nods, looking relieved, "Oh, well...that's good then." At his query, she gives him a reassuring smile, "I meant...'love', from a real good friend, not...you know," and she's using hand gestures before noting his guarded expression. "I was trying to say that I appreciate you, and 'love' is a strong word..." A beat. "I'm sorry. I know the folks and I can get it changed or removed." She looks apologetic, eyes lingering on his face.

"It's a strong word, and not one to be taken lightly," R'hin says, studying her in much the same manner as she does him; contrite a second later, "No, don't change it. I didn't mean to ruin the mood. It just... caught me off guard, is all."

"I didn't mean to take it...I really like you, alot, I...." and Ayana sighs, the words either lost or not making much sense. She grins then, "No, I think I was the one that sort of ruined it," she drawls smoothly. "I didn't want or mean to catch you off-guard." She studies his face for awhile, "Well, I'm glad you like it. I just have to screw 'something' up..." and she rolls her eyes before her gaze goes briefly to the ocean. With a small smirk, "So, is this the part where I should flee hiding in the bushes in embarrassment?" she asks in mild amusement.

"No," R'hin disagrees, voice deliberately gentle, "You're not really one to get embarrassed overly much, I think." Fingers play along the length of the necklace, before he lifts it over his head and settles it around his neck. His expression is still somewhat guarded, probably through habit more than any deliberate move now. He reaches over to select some fruit, offering to her in turn with a twitch of lips. "I think this was about where we were up to, right?"

Ayana chuckles, "No, not really," she agrees, "but even I get caught off-guard every now and then." She watches him place the necklace around his neck, watching his face more than anything, "Interesting," she murmurs, though it's hard to tell whether it would be heard or not. Taking the fruit offered with a playful smirk, "Yes, this was indeed," she answers him, reaching up to touch his face gently as she munches on the fruit. "I believe I asked you what was your pleasure at the party," she muses then. "I think we're in a position to answer?" and she looks around deliberately, seeing only them on the beach before her eyes finds his mischieviously.

The twitch of lips is soon followed by a low-throated chuckle from the bronzerider. "Mm. I'll do better than tell you. I'll show you," R'hin says, leaning into kiss her with that sense of rising, demanding urgency that always seems to punctuate meetings. The only hint of Leiventh's interest is a brief alteration of his path across the pair, before the bronze continues resuming his lazy circling above.

Ayana looks amused by his answer, an eyebrow raised, "Mm, good move," she murmurs before she takes on his kiss, her own urgency apparent as she pulls him down with her. Atleast for now, the food and wine are forgotten while Kyreth continues to float on by in the sea.

Time passes, and the air's cooled quite a bit more by the time the pair lie entwined on the blanket. "It's disturbing," R'hin finally murmurs, "How much sand gets into unwanted places, blanket or no," his wry humor apparent, the fingers of one hand play with Ayana's hair, his other hand resting easily on her hip. Regretfully, "I have to be up early in the morning."

Ayana chuckles, laying against R'hin's chest as she draws fingers playfully over his stomach, "Maybe I should have set this up over in that shelter over there," she drawls wry, her amusement in her eyes. At his latter statement, she nods, reaching up with a hand to bring his lips into a kiss, "So do I," she says in the same tone as him, her eyes studying his face for a moment. "Hope you enjoyed tonite," she says softly, "and I didn't mean to throw you off with the...well, you know." A pause. "I'll have an answer for you with Kam in a few days."

"Mm. Somewhat public -is- half the fun," R'hin responds with low, amused chuckle. "Don't you think?" Further words are put aside for the moment as he bends head for lips to meet hers for a while. "I enjoyed it," he agrees finally. "And, don't worry about that. Taken in the spirit with which it was intended," he says, hand shifting from her hair to run along the twists of the necklace. A low, reluctant exhale as he begins to extricate himself from her, though his hands linger here and there as he does, dressing quickly. The latter comment earns a flicker of a shadow, worry. "Be careful," is all he says, by way of warning.

Ayana chuckles low, her eyes raking appreciatively over him, "I agree," she drawls with a wink. She nods about the necklace, her smile warm, "Good." She quickly dresses herself as he pulls away, noting the flicker of emotion from him about her brothers. Smirking, some of the recklessness showing in the glint of her hazel eyes as she regards him, "You know me," she says with an arched brow. "I'm not looking to be knifed anytime soon. Besides, I have a feeling it should be easy." She sets about taking up the basket and blanket with Kyreth already dry from the ocean, waiting.

"One should never be complacent, especially in that line of work." The words spill out automatically, and there's a beat before R'hin adds, "So I'm constantly being told." Leiventh's arrival is felt more than heard, a whip of wind chilling the air around the two riders as he lands nearby, a dark shadow on the beach. Pale eyes move in that direction, by habit, before shifting back to Ayana as he moves close to her, disrupting her task of collecting the blanket with a kiss. Roughened fingertips trace a line along her cheek as he pulls back, murmuring, "I'll see you again soon."

Ayana grins at his words, "Doesn't hurt to be cautious, no," she adds in reference to her brothers and their line of work, "but as they say, 'stay alert'." She returns the kiss warmly, touching his fingers as they touch her cheek briefly, "I'll look forward to it," she says quietly before flashing him a smile and dumping the things into Kyreth's sack.

R'hin's pale eyes linger on the brownrider for a moment longer, before a rumbling query from Leiventh garners his attention, and he begins striding across the beach to meet the bronze. "We're headed home," he answers the query aloud. A last look is given over his shoulder before he nimbly climbs atop Leiventh's neck, the bronze aloft almost the moment he's settled, winking into between barely a heartbeat off the ground.

You hop up onto Leiventh's back, using his straps as handholds.
