With mid-day meal in full swing the Living Caverns are a hive of activity with riders and residents alive sitting at tables eating or in line filling plates and bowls with the cooks offerings. A young healer apprentice is one of those moving along the line, nibbling on her lower lip as she keeps pace with those in front of her. Poor Rennea wears the expression of one feeling out of place and rather lost in the sea of people as her eyes dart about from those around her to the tables of food.

Neither out-of-place nor lost, but still noticeable merely due to regal air and expensive stylish clothing, Aishani comes from the kitchen and down the steps with a covered basket, making her way through the milling crowds and down to the serving table. Not many people get in her way, so it doesn't take long. Handing the basket to one of the serving staff - who is kind enough to smile Rennea's way encouragingly - the goldrider follows the other woman's gaze, looking at the apprentice with some bemusement. "It's food," she says. "It won't bite you. I'm certain it all has to be dead to be cooked."

Rennea jumps, startled when spokan to but managing to smile in the blink of an eye, "Sorry, it's just a lot more people in here each time I come for a meal." she notes with a notable blush coloring her cheeks. "The only food that hurts you is anything that can still bite back when you stick a knife into it or if by chance you don't pay attention to what your taught growing up about plants and berries and the like." is rambled as she begins plunking this and that onto her plate, passing by the soup but nabbing up some still fairly hot meat. "I'm Rennea, Healer Apprentice Ma'am." noting the riders shoulder knot.

It's not really something Aishani does, wear her shoulder knot all properly like she ought, unless she has her riding jacket on, but the new additions in the form of candidates has forced her to be more formal. She has the grace to ignore the apprentice's blush, though she shows no sympathy for the rambling. (The serving staff does. Also for the weyrwoman's lack of it.) "Aren't there an awful lot of people at the Hall? Or do you eat in shifts?" Arching fine brows curiously, she nods to the introduction, moving out from behind the table. "Aishani, Iesaryth's."

Rennea says, "I always managed to find away to eat between mealtimes so that I avoided the crowds but yes, there are lots of people." she starts, pausing to grab a mug of Klah before standing out of the way before continuing on with her thoughts. "Just seems like there are far more here, maybe it's just the noise of everyone talking or something that makes it seem like the caverns are near overflowing with bodies."

Brows still arched, looking at the apprentice, Aishani notes, "A healer apprentice who's not much for people. That's... interesting. What drew you to apprentice?" At the very least, she leads Rennea to a table with an open seat while she interrogates the younger woman. "Mm. Well. There are some candidates from out of the Weyr. Clutches on the sands always make things a bit more crowded, I think. All that... energy." Where some might smile, she wrinkles her nose.

Rennea looks downward before speaking again, finding her dirt stained fingers interesting for a time. "I work alot with plants Ma'am, from growing them to preparing them for usage." Yes, the girl is a bit of an odd avain but she's seemingly honest. "I hate seeing people hurt or sick, I love helping make the things that will help them return to health." she explains before canting her head to the left as the older woman begins talking of candidates and more. "I saw a bunch of them when I came in, white knots and wide eyed." Turning towards the tables, the girl eyes available spots, "I was sent here to put my mind to further test or so they said, not only am I to learn more about herbs and medicinial uses but to learn dragonhealing as well because of my steady hands and quick mind." In that moment a group of boys and girls passes on by, being shoo'd back to chores and whatnot by an older woman that has the troupe laughing but heading on their way, "Lots of energy...if one could bottle it up for an emergency..."

Briskly, "You'll enjoy the greenhouse during the winter, then. Madilla, the weyrhealer, spends some time there." Aishani stops by a table with a couple of free seats; no one tries to take them. She gestures to Rennea - sit. "That's... lovely," she says, more out of a need to respond than anything else. "And kind of your masters to allow you to diversify your training so early in it. Have you had much experience with dragons? We have some excellent dragonhealers as well, of course." Of course. The children have her closing her eyes briefly as they pass, but she manages a faint smile. "Indeed. And never let it out otherwise."

Rennea settles into the offered seat, "I'm looking forward to greenhouse time." she murmurs as she eyes her plate, as if realizing just what she put on there and she's slightly confused by it all. "They say my quick mind would be better put to use if I would stop trying to spend so much time with plants and more time with people." she pauses, eyes lifting "So, here I am and Dragonhealing my new secondary course of learning." The candidates are followed as they disappear from view, "Agreed."

After briefly scanning the cavern, Aishani takes the seat opposite Rennea, crossing long legs. "Do they. I'd imagine one would need to be quite bright to remember all the different uses of the plants, and make sure that too much isn't used. But it does seem necessary to have a way with people to be a proper healer, yes?" She shrugs a little, as if it's all beyond her. As for dragonhealing, "I'm sure if you speak to Leova, she will be helpful. She's been at dragonhealing for quite some time and is very skilled. I don't doubt they won't appreciate another pair of hands to help, either." A faint smile.

Rennea bobs her head as she sets into some greens she served herelf. "I'll be sure to speak to her." is mumbled between bites. "I rather like dealing with adults over children and the elders." she does note before putting more into her mouth, chewing and swallowing before taking a sip of klah and speaking again. "Healing hands are often needed, not only for the healing of illnesses and injuries but to give comfort in a lifes final moments or to welcome new lives into this world." her words sound as if they've been drilled into her mind very well as they simple tumble from her lips.

"I imagine most people do," Aishani agrees. "Children are sort of a pain and the elderly just remind everyone of death, yes? It's unavoidable." And it could be put in a less blunt manner, but she doesn't seem to to worry about tact all the time. Rennea's recitation of what seems to obviously be some sort of Healer truism has her at a loss for words for a moment, but she merely nods after a blink. "I... suppose so. I hope you're settling in, despite the weather?"

Rennea looks up, nodding in full agreement, "Exactly. I would rather speak with someome who can understand what I'm trying to say, over someone who won't sit still long enough to listen or someone who just can't hear and or doesn't want to hear at all." For a time her food is stirred about before she speaks up again, "Yes, I can find my way from the Craft area to just about any part of the Weyr I need to find without having to stop and ask someone for directions."

"Mm." Aishani seems to agree, by the soft sound she makes, but she's looking at Rennea with her head tilted, curious. "That certainly requires patience." Swinging one boot idly as she sits, she watches the ebb and flow of the cavern, quirking her lips. "That's good. I hope the infirmary as well. I imagine you'll spend more of your time there. And not a lot of reason to go outdoors, I suppose, if you can't stand the snow." Though she hasn't asked for it, or so much as signalled the need for one, a server sets a mug in front of the goldrider, rewarded with a brilliant smile and thanks.

Rennea looks quickly towards the bowl, a slight shudder going through her. "Now that I do mind but will deal with and get used to...if that's possible." There's a smile towards the server, "I think the only time I'd have trouble finding the infirmary is at night and during a heavy snow fall or a combination of the two." Having eaten her fill and pretty much emptied her plate the young healer sits back with her mug in hand. "How many more candidates will be brought in do you think? It seems like they're all over the place now and certainly underfoot."

Dryly, "People say you do, but I can't say I've come to enjoy it yet." Aishani gives another little shrug - what can you do - then takes up her mug. "That's what the ropes are for," she says, with a sigh mourning that such things should exist. As for candidates, she glances around the cavern before taking a sip from her mug, as if there might be some high water mark for white-knotted teens. "Not too many, I imagine. There's only so many we take from outside the Weyr at all, these days. Though the way they travel in packs, you'd be forgiven for thinking there's more then there are. We try not to... burden the Holds over much." She smirks a little at that.

Chuckles, then grins "That explains how it does seem that there are far more. They move in herds." a nod of understanding as she sombers some, "Ropes, gotcha. I'll have to keep gloves tucked into my coat at all times, not only to protect my skin from the cold but also the ropes." The mug is set aside as she examines her hands and fingers, the callused fingers are proof that the girl isn't afraid of hard work, "Can't take to many from the Holds or Halls or there might be complaints about not enough able bodies." Her mouth twists some in understanding.

With a nod, "Exactly that. And there's been a few... incidents with the Holds that require some care. It doesn't matter much - there's lots of candidates to choose from here, as small as the clutches are now." Aishani isn't complaining, mind; just noting a fact. "I'd be surprised if Iesaryth's next tops Hraedhyth's. The Weyr is filling up; the riders don't need to be replaced." Another quick quirk of lips before, "It's an interesting time to be at a Weyr, Rennea."

Rennea is about to say more when a young man also bearing a healers knot nears and calls out her name and waves a hand then motions towards the bowl. "It looks as if I'm being beckon." comes with a sigh and a shake of her head. "I have to agree though, it's a very interesting time and I look forward to watching the eggs hatch and the young dragons impress no matter the size of the clutch." comes with a growing smile as she rises with dishes in hand. "THank you for the company and the talk ma'am. I enjoyed it." And with a parting bob of her head the girl vanishes into the throng of people and presumablly out to the bowl and whatever craft errand she's being called for.
