On the morning of the 26th day of Month 2, Turn 28, a ship just arriving at Tillek made mention of a wreck they'd seen just off some of the nearest Western islands. Word was passed on to Lady Edeline, and she instructed one of her own ships to head out to investigate, along with several High Reaches riders. The ship was quickly identified as one the Tillekian guard had been keeping close watch on over the years - always suspected of dubious dealings, but never caught red-handed.

By evening, official reports were coming back to the Weyr and Hold both that amongst the wreckage, the body of a small boy had been found and that further examination marks him as racially comparable to Lady Edeline and Consort Potipher's missing son. The body had been in the water for too long for the facial features to be recognisable, but the Lady has gone into mourning: after nearly nine months of uncertainty, perhaps it's simply good to have some closure?

Interestingly, the rescuers also found the holds of the beleaguered ship filled with Crom-marked goods.

In the days that follow, riders report of increased suspicion of Crom growing at Tillek - and spreading, fast. What were they doing dealing with what surely must have been pirates? Were they involved in the kidnapping of young Thedrin? And is High Reaches really to blame, as Tillek seems inclined to think, for failing to discover young Thedrin before it was too late?

And, for that matter, where will High Reaches Hold align themselves, given the planned wedding of their daughter, Issedi, to Lord Aughan of Crom himself?
