| Azaylia and Hraedhyth's Weyr, High Reaches Weyr Accessed via a narrow staircase from the Weyrleader's Complex, or from the broad, sunny ledge beyond, this weyr was clearly designed to be for one of the weyr's junior queens. Spacious, but not extravagant, it boasts a well-sized outer room, narrowing in front the well-sized dragon couch and ledge beyond. Much of this main room has been turned over to a couch and several chairs, which circle the hearth and the blue rug set down in front of it. There's a low table here, too, set in the middle of that rug. A tack-cupboard stands tidily behind the couch, keeping out of sight a rider's paraphernalia. Three low steps lead up onto a peculiar little landing, just large enough for the brand new desk and set of shelves that have been placed there. Here, too, there are definite pointers to the lived-in state of the weyr: the desk could in no way be described as tidy. Behind the desk, a narrow passage leads in an inner set of chambers, made up of a sleeping cavern and a private bathing area. A decent-sized bed fills much of the space, the mattress piled high with overstuffed down pillows and comforter. There's a nightstand on either side, and against one of the other walls, a tall, heavy wardrobe made from a dark wood that matches the bed. The bathing area is part of the same cavern, a folding screen shielding the toilet and slightly raised, double-sized bathtub built into the stone, and a small shelf to hold toiletries. Unusually, the walls, ceiling and floor of this weyr have all been whitewashed thickly, covering the natural stone. The hearth is brand new, too, as are most of the built-in fittings, as though they have recently needed to be replaced. Though the weather has cooled considerably, sunny skies and a gentle breeze make for a lovely day. Azaylia's weyr benefits from the fresh breeze, a light perfume of flowers dancing in the air, likely from the fresh cuts left in the eyesockets of a ram's skull. Morbid centerpiece is arranged in the center of her low table, saucers, cups, and goodies frozen in orbit around the painted bone. R'co has been given a day's notice that the weyrwoman's schedule is finally cleared and his patience will be rewarded. Dressed in a darkly blue dress befitting the oncoming autumn season, Azaylia is tucked into a corner of her couch, waiting for her guest to arrive. If Hraedhyth chooses at all to quiz Deveriteauxth while their riders get together, she'll find that R'co's early morning activities involved a trip to Fort Weyr, prior to his arrival in the weyrwoman's home. The brown announces his presence, landing briefly on the ledge to let his rider dismount, and R'co's bootheels clip sharply against the stone floor as he trots in to find Azaylia. Dressed sharply in an embroidered waistcoat, long-sleeved white shirt, black leathers and boots laced to his knees, the brownrider comes bearing gifts - a bouquet of flowers, and a bag looped over one wrist. "Weyrwoman," he coos when he spots her, pausing to dip into a sweeping bow. "You look charming." Hraedhyth is rarely on her ledge, unless accompanied by a certain Acting Weyrleader's brown. Deveriteauxth is not he, but the warrior queen does share some manners with her rider, barreling down from the sky in order to keep him company. And perhaps, to ensure that he knows whose ledge it is. Azaylia's jaw leaves her palm, thoughtful pose broken at the sound of boot heels on stone, quieted only when he reaches one of her rugs. "R'co." A warm greeting, his compliment prompting her to run a hand down along her one-sided braid, checking that every pleat is still perfectly placed. "Thank you. You look... I hope you didn't get all dressed up just for tea?" His clothes are just that smart, it seems. "Please, join me?" Her hand's sweep includes the other side of the couch, or a big, comfy chair. The flowers are handed over, but R'co keeps the bag to himself for the moment. "I've been dying to get out my cool-weather clothing. You just happened to provide me with the perfect opportunity to smarten up a little - I'm ever so grateful." He settles comfortably on the other end of the couch, leaning against the back so as to be turned to face Azaylia. The bag clinks when it's set down on the sofa in front of him, and he gives the goldrider a bright smile. "I'm so glad we're meeting at last. Your weyr is... unique." Stepping forward to accept the flowers, Azaylia's gentle murmur of thanks is followed by a deep inhale of the bouquet. She finds room, using one of those curling ram horns to prop up the stems, keeping the gift nearby but out of the way. "I'll miss summer. But you do look very nice." She sits after he does, freshly fluffed cushion still retaining the tell-tale dip of a certain gardener. "It's Hraedhyth's home, too." The goldrider is likely used to the odd comment about her dragon's macabre trophies. With a gentle smile, she leans forward in order to pour each of them a cup with practiced formality. There are also light cookies to dip, as well as heavier finger sandwiches-- likely Hana's doing. "Have you managed to settle in? I hope it's all beginning to feel like home again?" There's the occasional glance at his bag, but polite patience keeps curiosity at bay. R'co wrinkles his nose a little, brow quirking up beneath a carefully-groomed overhang of blonde hair. "Well, darling, my weyr is... it's taking time. Most of my things are still being stored, because it's going to need a lot of perking up in there if we're going to be comfortable for the next however many turns we have. Otherwise? Pern's peachy-keen for me, and it's fabulous to be home again, and under such delightful weyrwomen." He gives Azaylia a sultry little pout, and a playful bat of his eyes. Noticing the glances at the bag, he grins crookedly, giving it a nudge towards her along the couch. It clinks, the sound of glass on glass. "A present. A little enticement, perhaps, for you to come visit sometime?" "That bad?" Azaylia's soft laugh is sympathetic, "I'm sure you'll be able to fix it up." If anyone can, R'co certainly seems like the 'perking up' type. The weyrwoman leans over to place the steaming cup in front of him, fingers catching the bag's handles as she straightens up. Pulling it closer, "Oh." Hands are eager to slip inside, careful in her rummaging through the jars of lotions and cosmetics. "Thank you, R'co. You really didn't have to." Said with the distracted pleasure of one who is so glad he did anyway. The angle of her lips hints at guilt, pout less playful than his, "I don't have anything for you." Is she supposed to? Surely she's had enough afternoon teas to be familiar with what's expected of her, or so she thought. R'co is pleased with the reaction to his present. "Of course I had to, darling. I've not been able to pin you down for a treatment yet, so I simply /had/ to try a little /extra/ persuasion." He lifts his mug to his lips, blowing gently on the surface, but not sipping yet; he waits a little longer, looking thoughtfully at the weyrwoman. "I thought we might use /this/ time to get you acquainted with what I do? I'd be happy to give you a facial, a massage... your choice. A busy weyrwoman /must/ find time to care for herself, of course." Rummage, rummage. Each jar is brought up for Azaylia to inspect in the light, balanced on careful fingertips. She doesn't sample them all, but several are unscrewed and inspected with a hearty, though quiet sniff. "I'm sorry about that. I've a lot of work and seem to have taken on more responsibilities than I meant to." Professional and personal. "There's sweetner and cream." She reminds, scooping in a few spoonfuls of the former into her own cup. She slows, eventually giving up and asking, "What is a... facial?" There's some unease, distrust not placed on the brownrider but on whatever her mind has offered as an answer. Out on the ledge, Hraedhyth has greeted Deveriteauxth with her typical, uniquely forceful brand of hospitality. If he wishes to stay on her ledge, he will be cuddled, warrior queen at ease and leaning into the smaller dragon. Deveriteauxth is a very cuddly dragon, and he's more than happy to reciprocate, leaning his big brown bulk back against her warm hide. R'co shakes his head at the offer of sweetner and cream. "I've always preferred my tea to be itself; klah needs sweetner, but tea's fine just as it is." Her question has him surprised, and he sets his tea down on the table to scoot a little closer to her. "Darling, if you've never even heard of a facial before... it's tragic. May I?" He holds up his hands, fingers warm from holding his tea, fingertips poised just by her temples and waiting for the go-ahead to touch, if he's granted as much. Azaylia's eyes widen ever so slightly. Was it something she said? Apparently so, as it has her guest abandoning his tea in order to reach over. "I... no?" Likely not how he means it. The weyrwoman doesn't seem keen on pulling away, not one to mind physical contact no matter how strange it may seem. "Uhm. You may?" She tries to glance at one hand, then the other before looking to R'co expectantly. Having received permission, R'co scoots a little bit closer, lightly resting his thumbs on the goldrider's temples. "Relax. Close your eyes." The word's spoken softly, drawn out, a request as much as advice. He breathes out gently, running his thumbs in sync upwards and across her forehead, meeting in the centre to draw down, along the bridge of her nose, and then out across her cheeks. "Imagine this," spoken in that same soft, almost sing-song voice, "but with your favourite scented oil, something soothing, while you lie back and just relax." The gentle massage continues, his fingers steady, strong, yet gentle. He finishes up with fingers tracing along her jaw, then the contact is gone, his hands resting lightly in his lap. "It's a massage, but with special creams and oils to benefit your skin. Far more intricate than that little example, of course. Would you like to try it?" Lingering curiosity is snuffed out with the lowering of her lids, Azaylia's jaw offered in a faint tilt upwards as she closes her eyes. His fingertips will have to fight the faint furrows at her brow, eventually successful in smoothing over her face as she relaxes. "Mm?" It isn't until he's retraced the path to her temples that a gentle, pleased breath tickles his wrists. When he's done, bright eyes open and find R'co, "That's different." But certainly not unpleasant. "I think I would, yes." Even she sounds surprised, perhaps not prepared to be met with a salesman of R'co's caliber. "Though, Hana will have to find me another free moment." And for that, her lips twist with some regret before lifting back into a warm smile. R'co's expression lifts when he's got Azaylia hooked - then sinks, when she seems to slip away. "Why, darling, is our time up now?" And he's barely touched his tea! The brownrider reaches for it, without backing up any on the couch; he's not necessarily uncomfortably close, but he's certainly near. "Give me three hours, weyrwoman. On your next rest day. Three hours, and I'll make you feel things you've never felt before." He smiles at her from over the top of his tea cup, before finally taking a sip of the cooled liquid. "Oh, and of course, I'll need to know what scents you like? Warm, cool, relaxing, refreshing - anything you don't like?" "What? No. Oh." Azaylia replies, unintentionally rhythmic. "I just, I thought you might want to set an offical appointment? I admit, I was looking forward to tea so we could talk more." R'co is an interesting sort, after all. A smile to match his, though there's no cup to hide the amused twist to her lips. "That sounds..." Unlikely? "Promising." She decides, hands folding far too neatly in her lap. It doesn't last long, reaching over for both a cookie and her own cup, "Oh, well. I don't much like woodsy smells on me. They're nice on men, though." A point made with the faint jab of cookie in the air before it's dipped, "I like flowers, but nothing too heavy? And sometimes I like something smokey. Spicy. Sometimes." Like Hraedhyth, such intensity is useful when hunting. After the cookie is quickly done away with, "I have some jars of soapsand in my bath. Maybe I can show you my favorites?" Not right away, as they're in no danger of running out of time just yet. "Oh, good - I would hate to think I'd used all my time demonstrating that to you - I know how precious your time must be." R'co tosses his head to flick his blonde hair back from his face, amping up a crookedly charming smile. "I love woodsy scents on men. It's so... mmph." It's a decidedly sexual sort of mmph, that leaves the brownrider smirking. "Especially when the scents intensify with heat - such as when you're making love." He watches her curiously to see the reaction to that. "But I know exactly what scent to mix for you. If you can show me your favourite soapsands, it'll help me get it absolutely right." Because he's that confident in his abilities. Azaylia's brows inch upwards in a moment of confirmation, smile perhaps a touch more knowledgable. It doesn't lose that warmth from before, only gaining amusement, "The men I usually have don't wear... well. Scents." But surely she's caught hints of cologne during more casual encounters with various folk. "I'll take your word for it." Happy to do so as she leans over to collect not one, but three cookies and one of the sandwiches. They're all tucked up against her cup, balancing on the saucer beneath it. She'll make short work of them before there's a chance of anything falling. "I can, and will. But first, I'd like to know more about you." And perhaps put a dent in their teatime spread. "And, tell me about Deveriteauxth." The weyrwoman shows as much interest in both dragon and rider. R'co's own scent has a hint of woodsiness to it, but it's more soft, lush, fruity. Inspired by Ista's forests, if Azaylia can recognise as much. "The interesting thing about scents," he says as he reaches for a cookie, which he nibbles at delicately, "is that they react differently on men and women - and even then, differently on each individual. It's all about matching the right one to the right person..." Leaning back and getting comfortable on the couch, R'co is happy to start talking about his favourite subject - himself and his lifemate, of course. "Would you like all the gory details, darling, or shall I just skim the surface with the basics? Because I can tell you some stories to make you toes curl, weyrwoman... and to maybe even make you blush." He winks saucily, awaiting her direction of choice before launching off into an over-dramatised recollection of everything R'co. "It's up to you." Though it certainly doesn't sound as if Azaylia will shy away from the more gruesome details. In fact, the weyrwoman is as interested in R'co's favorite subject as he is in talking about it. Despite manners and her delicate company, it's notoriously difficult to make her blush-- possibly a resut of her dark complexion? Although, there are moments when she asks after the more sordid details with a casual sweetness that may seem even more inappropriate than the various subjects at hand. Truly, this afternoon tea will prove to be enlightening for both weyrwoman and brownrider. |
