| It didn't take long for news of the brawl to make it to the Infirmary. A couple of the healers had been at breakfast, and they rushed back to give the warning. By the time the first few casualties arrived, the Infirmary was ready for them, and Madilla was at the forefront of it all. She knew about the rumours, of course. She knew what people were saying. What K'del was saying. She'd always had a lot of respect for the once-Weyrleader; now, she had a lot of sympathy. Nonetheless, she felt a moment of hesitation as the casualty waiting list dwindled, and that particular bronzerider came next. A Healer had to be a neutral party, in this. As Weyrhealer, she had to set an example. Even so, she found herself turning, walking away. "Emerin, can you take this one?" She felt sorry for K'del. She did. She knew how much he must be hurting. But H'kon... No. But violence was never the answer. (At least... that's what she told herself her reasons were.) |
