| BENDEN AREA Hulen, the Lord and Lady's only child, turned one with little fanfare. No one but immediate family was invited, and this has led to renewed speculation as to why Matthias was brought in as heir, and what /is/ wrong with the young child that he's been secreted away by, what originally was thought, an over protective mother. Matthias continues his studies and training diligently, and will embark on a visitation of the nearby minor holds and cotholds with Lord Dorbin by mid-summer. His mother, the Lord, and he have worked diligently to whittle the potential candidates for the future lady down to three: Nalisse, Peicha, and Mirelle, of which Mirelle is said to be the most preferred candidate; though politically seems to make the least sense given her relationship with Lady Lara. FORT AREA The unbreakable glass at HEALER HALL is still causing some consternation among the ranks and the latest rumor out of the crafthall is that some journeymen and masters have begun to store organs in these containers and put into cold storage for further study. There are two clear lines of thought at the Hall: the sanctity of the human body except in cases of necessary surgery and utilizing the dead for research in ways unfathomable to previous Pernese. IGEN AREA After the disaster that was her leadership flight, Nimae finally relaxed her ban of Reachian riders at IGEN WEYR nearly two months after instating it, on D20 M6 T36. Some say it was a "chance" encounter with R'hin at the Woodcraft craft fair in month 5 that caused a change of heart, or an entreaty from Prinavi of Telgar. Whatever the case, the release of restrictions was quietly done: no official announcement or fanfare. The news would've spread from a Reachian bluerider, invited to Igen by a greenriding wingleader at the Weyr. Unrest continues at IGEN HOLD, with Joremy's name at the forefront, though the man himself is not as easy to find. There are skirmishes within the Hold's walls, though none reportedly from the Hold proper, between Hold guards and the people that many say trace back to the Lord's younger brother. Seen more often is the once lady of High Reaches Hold, a pregnant Yuliye, who has cultivated the same image she once had at Crom Hold, an good Samaritan (if those terms existed on Pern) to the downtrodden, helper of any who asks. Wulfan is said to be locked in the family residence of the Hold; of his own accord? By force? By the middle of M8, drums will begin to sound from the IGEN HOLD drumheights that Wulfan has abdicated and has named his younger brother as heir. Many rumors will abound that this is High Reaches Hold all over again. (More in a separate, closer to the date post.) WEATHER The general weather across Pern this summer tends to be more mild than in previous summers, with the exception of Ista Isles, who seems to be having a much more wet summer than usual. What this means is +weather is maybe 5 degrees higher than what it is this summer. |
