Update On Fort Area Happenings: Autumn 23
RL Date: 25 September, 2010
Who: Shevena
Involves: Fort Weyr
Type: Update
What: The autumn gather season comes to a close and tithes have been thin.
When: Day 15, Month 11, Turn 23 (Interval 10)

As the middle of month 11 swings around, the Autumn gather season is coming to a close. Fort's own Autumn gather was held early in month 9 and was generally merry in atmosphere with no major events to report other than that trade seemed to be brisk. The last gather of the season is Boll's and will be taking place between the 10th of month 11 and the 15th of month 11 at Southern Boll Hold.

The weather this autumn has been fairly dry so far by contrast with the very wet spring. There's been rainy days, but by and large the weather has been clear, cool and crisp and is now heading into downright chilly as winter draws near.

Word from the lower caverns is that the tithes have been coming in regularly but some shipments have been on the thin or short side, an after-effect of the past few turns of raids followed by forced evictions by Esraval's enforcers. Riders and residents alike will find that items that used to be openly available are now being kept under lock and key, including food supplies, writing supplies except for scrap, furniture and clothing. Hand-me-downs and the products of aunties' and uncles' knitting can still be readily obtained from the 'please take' bins, however anything nicer will need to be obtained by request to the headwoman, one of her assistants or a stores-keeper, or bought from a Weaver.
