It's been in the works for a while, a lot of back and forth about wings and wing structure and general wing practices and procedures since T'rev took over and finally there's been some decisions made and a whole lot of shuffling is taking place to put the changes into effect. Rumor has it that the Weyrleader got some new ideas on top of the ones he already had from talking to High Reaches' Weyrleader and those are a part of these changes too.

The skinny goes as follows: D'kai, bronze Mikhuth's is stepping up as Wingleader of Obsidian with N'kan, blue Kirdoth's as his 'second to provide some continuity. B'kaiv, green Chielyth's has also been transferred into Obsidian, which might not be a surprise considering events of month 10 and the well-known rift between the Weyrleader and the greenrider, though the two have seemed to be on amicable enough terms since the greenrider apologized and cleaned up his act after breaking T'rev's rib.

Aleine, brown Havroth's who has been 'second of Flint since before the Weyrleader transferred to Fort has been promoted to wingleader of Hematite, replacing J'ki who has not been able to whip his wing into shape at all. J'ki has stepped back voluntarily citing stress and a need to recover and will be rejoining the ranks of regular riders. He's also transferred out of Hematite and into Sandstone where T'rien continues to run a very smooth operation. Yrimia who's been a 'second in Hematite for as long as Aleine was in Flint has retired from active duty and taken a watchrider posting down at a small hold near Boll to enjoy the beach and warm weather.

In Flint, this opens up a spot for a junior wingsecond as G'fry, blue Boulonth's steps up to fill Aleine's 'senior' 'second shoes.

All wings have been instructed to step down to a 3 or 4 day per week drilling schedule, with a mix of drill-types, taking the focus away from traditional drills and more towards interval duties. Other transfers in the wings have focused on balancing dragon colors in all of the wings as there's no longer a need to field multiple 'light' wings to trade in and out during Falls and the new configuration of wings is feeling out specialization in interval work, including search and rescue, transport and so on.

Finally, a pilot program has been tentatively started to hook up riders with healers and harpers who have been posted to remote ridings and need to do a lot of visiting of small, isolated holds and waystations in an effort to increase education in those areas and provide 'emergency services'. Volunteers from all wings are being actively sought for the program.
