We are all so proud of you and your little blue! Did you know we were there? I don't know what Dad did, but there were enough dragons to get everyone here. Okay, not everyone; all the kids stayed at home except for Tomas, and Parma's pregnant again, so she didn't get to come, but everyone else.

Romie was hoping you were going to get a bronze, but now that we're home all he talks about is going for rides with you and Jorth. Tomas is telling all his brothers and sisters about it, so they're all excited too. I think Elra's too little to really understand anything, but she keeps talking about how cute little dragons must be as if she was there.

Stina's the most jealous, I think. Well, after Romie, but it's a different kind of jealous. Romie wants to fly around and shoot fire at things. Stina... I think she wants to prove something, something that she feels like you did prove during the hatching. I don't think she understands, though. But you know no one understands you like me. Except maybe that little blue? How does that work, anyway, really? You hear things of course, but you're the first dragonrider I really know. You better tell me everything.

Mom and Dad are my favourite, anyway. Dad must be telling everyone, for how many people keep coming and asking me about it. He's so proud, Tomic. (Okay, okay, I know it's T'mic now, but you're always going to be Tomic to me.) He was pleased when you went away with uncle Klous, and talked about how brave you were to go somewhere new, but it's different now. You're the only one who's done something really different (except for me, and he doesn't know that yet - I think I might not even ever tell him, honestly). I think he always thought Marcis would be the one to go off and do something interesting, but Marcis has been seeing this girl now, and it looks like they might be getting serious. Now he's almost sounding like he looks up to you, it's really adorable. But I wonder sometimes if Dad doesn't wish he'd been able to at least travel around and see things before settling down.

Mom has made sure that everyone in the kitchens knows she has a son who's a dragonrider. I think she's worried about what Weyr life will be like for you, a little, but she's trying had not to let that ruin any of Dad's fun. She's really looking forward to when you can come home, more than anything. I think she'll feel better when she can feed you another proper meal.

This is getting really long, but I wanted you to know that we're all thinking of you. I guess I better wrap it up, though. I hope you still get to see that girl whose hand you were holding all hatching. (She is the one we talked about, right?) I don't even hope, I'm telling you, that you're going to write me back as soon as you can. Give Jorth a kiss on the forehead for me, right between those totally adorable eyes of his. And let me know when we get to come see you.
