This complicated matters enormously when several of the convicts were Searched to stand for Iovniath's clutch. Despite initial reluctance, the Weyrleaders ultimately allowed convicts who had completed their sentence to Stand. Nonetheless, there was enormous concern, particularly given Iovniath's prized gold egg - an addition much needed given the weyr's present roster of only a single queen.
 When the eggs hatched, the Weyr was relieved to see the young queen Impress to Teris, who had formerly been Tiriana's personal assistant. They were less pleased to see two of the former convicts Impress - and then, from the Stands, one of the guards sent to oversee the convicts. In the end, the clutch contained one gold, 2 bronzes, 3 browns, 5 blues and 9 greens.
