 Black metal burnishes and locks about the bottom like a vise. Rumpled and crumpled, the shell appears to have multiple layers that build about the midpoint and taper at the top, burning in bright lemon yellows, burnished golds, and crimson tongues that flicker their crackling essence about the outer edges. Cobalt blue dares to peek out from the dead center like an unblinking eye. Keep your eye on the prize.

 It may come as a surprise to you, R'co that your brown has the tendency to talk. A lot. To anyone and everyone who has time to listen—and even sometimes, people who don’t have the time to listen! Deveriteauxth has very little filter between brain and mouth, so much in the moment is he. This may come to get you both into a bit of trouble, especially if he mouths off to the wrong people - he's got very few qualms about rank, after all! Before you get to know him well, this could happen a lot.  Regardless of the outcome of the flight, he will dwell on it and linger over the female in question at least for a little while, for as long as his rather short memory (even for a dragon) will allow. Gifts at her ledge, crooning or bugling at odd hours of the night, mental tapestries painted along the mindlink just for her? Get used to it. Don’t be surprised if you start to accumulate some flotsam and jetsam on your ledge from other weyr residents who are trying to sleep but can’t due to all the noise. Will that stop him? Probably not, you may have to have a talk with him for your own (and others') sanity.

A hint of dusty rose colours the tip of his muzzle, while calligrapher’s careful strokes daub water-washed ink across his broad head, darkest around his whirling eyes and matched by the arabica of his canted headknobs. Inkspots dapple the length of his neck, faded by time where they dot the silvery canvas of his expansive wings, a poet’s whimsy scrawling sable nonsense verse along the louched tips of his sugar-sweetened sails. Heavy, dusky hindquarters lead to a sooty-tipped tail, complemented by the charcoal smudged across his shadowed paws – a smooth contrast to the pale papyrus of his smoke-dappled belly.
