== Deep Sea Blue Hatchling ==
The sea, hours away from any land, is a deep blue, shining when the sun falls upon it, and darker under clouds. Such are the colors of this hatchling: The deepest colors of the sunlit ocean along most of his sides and back and nec, but a darker coloring under the wings. Subtle streaks of a slightly greener blue mingle in, here and there – barely visible except close up. And along the ridges of the neck, the deep color lightens just a touch, the brighter blue of the deep sea seen closer up.

Deep Sea Blue jumps away from the shalescape egg, casting it a startled glance. Now that he’s not looking at the Candidates, the constant murmur of sound from the gallery draws his attention, and he gazes towards them for a moment or two. But that’s all it takes for him to turn away, back towards the more interesting Candidates. He takes a few bumbling steps towards them, wings flaring out for balance. After another pause to get his legs properly under him, he walks forward again – once more awkward, and then suddenly with the fluidity of water he’s moving gracefully, picking out one Candidate to head towards.
