== Stripes of Color Egg ==

This egg is one of the largest in the clutch, but even if it weren’t it would still stand out, as it’s encircled by riotous bands of color, almost perfectly parallel. Grey, yellowish, cyan, green, magenta, a deeper red, and blue are the colors, from small end to large, and at the very bottom, where the egg rests in the sand, there’s a black swatch, and it looks like perhaps a bit of white.

''The Stripes of Color Egg rolls another couple of feet, jerking wildly all the while. Cracks begin to spiderweb out from an impact point near its crown, growing and growing until all at once the entire egg dissolves into tiny shards, raining down onto a startled, copper-tinged bronze hatchling.''

== Regal, Copper-Kissed Bronze ==

Eye-popping color enwraps this hulking, headstrong beast of a bronze: an unusual ruddy copper whose new-minted polish only accentuates his size, agleam from the thrust of his roman nose to his thick, muscular tail. Even where his other extremities vary, it’s to maximize drama; spiky neckridges redden even further, fire-kissed, and broad wings’ trailing edges bear the unmistakable splatter of liquid gold. His paws are enormous, their bronze darker but never duller, and tipped with scimitar-curved talons of onyx. Despite his barge-like build, there’s a certain balanced grace to his carriage, gifted by a mind that seems far more agile than his bulk would imply.

== Temperament ==

Honor. Duty. Loyalty to those in command. Those are all fine, high-minded concepts… none of which Temrianth instinctively understands. It’s not that he’s stupid – far from it! Temrianth, with his insatiable thirst for knowledge, has more raw intellect than most bronzes in the Weyr. In fact, that intelligence is just the problem. He wants to know /why/ he should have unswerving loyalty to Cadejoth, just because he got lucky and managed to catch Iovniath, and why /that/ means that K’del gets to tell you when to jump, and how high.

His insatiable thirst for knowledge will only be sparked the more when he realizes that you don’t have all the answers ready for him to pick out of your head. Because he /will/ be plucking them right out of your head, if you don’t get firm with him about boundaries. Temrianth, he’s not very good about boundaries. He’ll happily rifle through your brain, and your belongings, and his clutchmate’s belongings, and even the accessible ground weyrs, if you don’t watch out. It’s not malicious, but he lacks an innate understanding of ‘private property’; why shouldn’t he have one of those herdbeasts from the fields in Crom? Surely the holders can’t eat /all/ of them, and that one looks so wonderfully fat…

Weyrling life with Temrianth is going to be a trial that poor Kh’ry is in no way prepared to deal with. Though affectionate and loyal to you, he’s also headstrong, curious, and a little sneaky. When he’s not constantly badgering you to read him that story of High Reaches’ last threadfall, he wants to know where all those herdbeast come from, and how the Weyr can supply so many for all the dragons that live here. Or maybe he’s badgering Isath about why he’s not supposed to fly, again, because he’s /really quite sure/ that he’s capable, even if he only just hatched last sevenday, and would she please step aside so he can get on with it? Or maybe he’s rifling around in Rhaelyn’s press again, to admire all the beautiful things that your fellow weyrling has acquired. He’ll find Yanijath a challenge, though; he’s just utterly overwhelmed by that bubbly buzz.

Not that Temrianth will always be go-go-go! It’s primarily an affliction of youth, though he’ll never lose his desire to know /why/. But the constant need for attention from you will eventually mellow; hopefully, by then, Kh’ry will have learned to manage the steady hand needed to keep Temrianth in line. His questions, likewise, will mature. And while he can understand and respect earned positions, he will forever be questioning those he sees as accidents of birth or precedence. << Why must I do as Iskiveth says, when Ysavaeth is so much more reasonable? Iskiveth is full of terrible ideas; can't we just ignore her and perhaps she will go away? >> Or, << Corobith is a better formation-leader than Cadejoth, and earned his position to boot. Can we not have Mielline as Weyrleader, instead? >>

His saving grace from being a total disaster of a bronze is his martial fascination with drilling and flaming and flying thread. His hunger for knowledge extends into battle tactics, and once he discovers what those charts on the walls of the weyrling barracks mean, he will forever be at you to review them with him. In this, you will never be able to keep up; you lack the understanding of how flying /works/. Oh, he’ll consult you from time to time, but he’d much rather sit with Vysravth and discuss tactics at length, or perhaps compare flaming strategies with Sforzath, or spend an inordinate amount of time expounding on flight theories with Amareth.

Adulthood and graduation may bring some temper to Temrianth’s personality… or so it would appear. In truth, he’ll just get more canny about when and whom he shares his more… revolutionary ideas. Believing Ysavaeth to be a kindred spirit (if she wants to rule, surely it’s just because she’s sensible about it?), he may feel drawn to her, particularly should she play on his more egalitarian tendencies. He doesn’t understand why a bronze should be considered better than a blue, or a brown worth more than a green– all are useful, all contribute to the success of a Weyr. So what if a blue is small? He’s also quick an maneuverable. He’ll likely find himself recruiting quite a few friends amongst his smaller wingmates. That isn’t to say he can’t get along with other bronzes; he’s charismatic enough to get along with most of them, but he’ll find their unconscious superiority to be a little grating.

Hopefully you two find yourselves drafted into a wing with a strong-willed, experienced leader – the more grizzled, the better. Otherwise, Temrianth is likely to spread subtle dissent with his constant questioning of his wingleader. In some ways, it’s expected of a bronze who might one day catch the senior queen; in others, it’ll be expected that /you/ should be able to rein him in, since you could one day be Weyrleader.

Flights are a strange thing, with Temrianth. On the one hand, he’s a hot-blooded young male who is definitely interested. But on the other, he doesn’t necessarily ascribe to the idea that all he has to do is outfly his chosen mate. You’ll find he’ll generally only chase after dragons he finds mentally stimulating, and he’ll often tend to want to stick around, afterwards, unless she’s quick to shoo him off. The urge to mate will be slow in coming, though, and he might not be sexually interested in his green clutch-sisters until several of them have risen for the second or even third time.

Ysavaeth will be fascinating for her warmth and agreeable-seeming influence (at least, until she pulls the queen card on /him/!), and Iovniath awe-worthy from a safe distance; he may find himself exasperated with Rielsath’s antics but attracted to her sense of adventure. But Iskiveth? He has no patience for. None. He’ll find every thought that comes into her head both alien and wrong, and irritating to boot. He won’t chase after her, not if he can manage to overcome his mating instinct! Should he end up catching a gold, he’ll be a dutiful sire. His eggs will fascinate him, and you’ll find him spending hours upon hours mentally reciting stories for the unborn– or maybe even inventing his own.

== Public Impression Message ==

No longer content to maintain his leisurely inspection of the occupants of the sands, the pace of the Regal, Copper-Kissed bronze picks up. Not frantic, not yet, but there’s a certain urgency to the way he pokes his muzzle at a pair of younger weyrbred boys. Something is clearly not to his liking, because he lingers only a moment. He paces down a bit further, picking up speed until he’s nearly running, until– WAIT. He grinds to a halt, then shuffles back a few paces to stare up wonderingly at a lanky exile lad.

== Private Impression Message ==

Where did this storm come from? Surely it was warm and dry on the hatching sands just a moment ago, but now you’re drowning in the swells of an angry sea. Blue-green whitecaps are overwhelming, crashing up and over in every direction, and the wind is howling like a demon. Perhaps Shimana was right all along, and the sea /has/ come to have its revenge! It certainly seems as though the wind were trying to tell you something. Oh wait. All at once the sound dies down, the seas growing glassy and calm, and you can hear a deep baritone voice coalesce out of that howling breeze. << ---ry! Kh'ry! There you are. I was afraid you couldn't understand. >> How did this bronze hatchling come to be here, looking up at you so adoringly? << Yes, Temrianth will suit me very nicely. Now. Don't you have something for me to eat? >>

== Mindvoice ==

In contrast to the shiny, heated colors of his hide, Temrianth’s mind is dominated by the cooler colors of the sea in a storm: all greens and greys and blues that lighten and darken with his mood. It’ll look awfully familiar to you; perhaps the imagery is plucked from Kh’ry’s memories? His voice itself is an echo-prone baritone, underscored with a howling wind as his emotion rises.

== Itchyspots ==

When Temrianth is going through one of his many, many growth spurts, he’ll be prone to itching all across those ever-expanding shoulders and deepening chest. It’ll take buckets of oil to soothe him, and it will seem as though it’s barely dried before he’s asking for relief again. Otherwise, he greatly enjoys a good scratch just behind his jawbone and all the way up and around to his headknobs.

Temeraire, as requested, though he appears to have somehow gotten trapped in the body of a Regal Copper! Our theme was pay TV, and since Peter Jackson optioned the movie rights to the Temeraire books, we figured the movie would /eventually/ show up on HBO, so– it counts! His name comes from a combination of Temeraire and Lung Tien Xiang.
