Caught in the first ice storm of winter, the muted scarlet of the leaves has been preserved and softened in the grip of winter’s harsh hand. This egg is the same, faded red, veined with dark brown in random lines that flow in delicate traceries along the surface. Although not large, it catches the eye with its powdery appearance and soft allure.

''Clear, ringing, strong, and commanding, the voice breaks through the shell as the tiny head rises. Pausing, still cradled in the midst of the shards, she turns her head to croon loudly in greetings to her parents before daintily rising. Her form is so tiny it barely seems able to contain such a voice. Unfurling her wings to the welcome heat of the sands she stands, motionless as if posed for an artist’s attention. Hunger takes her, drawing a creel from her as she glides to the waiting circle. ''

== Pearled Peridot Green ==

So tiny, so fragile, almost more of a dream than a reality, this little green regards life through large, prismatic eyes that look for warmth and affection. The shading of her hide is the pure green of young growing foliage spreading leaves to the sun, a soft olive color tinged along her wingtips and around her eyeridges with a lighter shade, highlighting the deceptive fragility of her form. A soft dusting of darker green and flecks of amber brown flow in soft swirls along the undersides of her overly large wings. As she croons, warbles, or trills her delight with life, her surprisingly loud voice makes her presence known.
