		+	Sleek and slinky, his frame is a fine-tailored arrangement of lean limbs clothed by deep blue silk. Bolts of cobalt and navy streak the svelte planes of his sides to snake down his hindlegs; darker midnight swathes his chest and shoulders, a glossy suit custom-made. His head is masked in black, the shadow of his eyeridges casting mystery over his narrow gaze; his snout is blunt, the corner of his jaw upturned: he smiles. He is dark, that cannot be avoided, but there is an echo of stars and the glow of the moons on the blue-black blanket of unfurled wingsails. He is a long line of a creature, aerodynamic to an extreme, with slender paws that end in black talons. His only blemish, if you could call it that, is the pale silver mark on the inside of his left foreleg, tucked into the curve of his breast: it's small and close to his heart.

		+	==Temperament==

		+	There are many levels of love, and many ways of expressing it, but it is universal. All you need is love, love is a many splendored thing, love lifts us up where we belong-you get the idea. It's quite possible there has never been a dragon known to Pern who had such an acute understanding of love as Yajieth possesses.

		+	From that first moment of setting eyes on you, he will be most obsessed. Of course, all dragons when they're young need to be with their lifemates, but Yajieth's co-dependence goes beyond the usual need. As a weyrling he'll be clingy. Your first months with him will likely try your patience as you strive to create strategies that will give you blessed moments to yourself. If you interest him in something when you need to take a bath, how much time do you have to wash yourself before he forgets why he was interested and starts looking for you?

		+	When it comes to his fellow weyrlings he'll be most sensitive. His concern for his friends will be unconditional and will know no bounds. It could be Riuth sprained a finger joint or Xorvith is having a hard time with drills. He'll be there with a kind word, an open ear and understanding.

		+	Giving you presents is his way of wooing you, he's quite the hopeless romantic. You'll find them on your pillow. Sometimes you might recognize them from someone else's inventory, and that isn't so pleasant but he's always apologetic and understanding when you scold him about stealing. Until he forgets.

		+	Love, right now, is like when a little boy and a little girl hold hands, endure cheek kisses and chase each other around the playground. It's innocent, it's young and it's clumsy.

		+	He'll be funny, too, and once he realizes he can make you laugh so easily he'll try to use that to his advantage. At first he'll be a dork, obvious in his attempts at amusing you, but as time passes he'll mellow, and he'll pick jokes up from you or from other dragons; add to that an inherent wit and quick talent with words and you've got yourself a future comedian.

		+	As an adult you'll find Yajieth's mania when it comes to you has tempered and banked itself to a warm, glowing core of unconditional love. You're his girl, his lucky charm, he knows not where you came from in the grand scheme of things, or who put you there for him, but he knows without a second thought that he loves you. Unashamed, he'll show you whenever he can.

		+	After a profoundly rough day of sweeps or drills or even just a plain ol' bad day you might come home to the barracks or, eventually, your weyr and find something waiting for you. Some little present he managed to acquire and deliver, just like when he was a baby.

		+	His sense of humor will have developed over the years, too. He loves to tell you jokes, and the fact that he nearly always messes them up because of some forgotten detail is forgivable, and sometimes it make them funnier. He'll still do anything to make you laugh. If you're having a rough encounter with someone, he'll fill your head with images of whoever's giving you a hard time: burly bronzeriders in pink dresses, headwomen with broad mustaches. And stories are always better when he tells them, and that's one of those qualities you'll pick up from him.

		+	There's a downside to his humor, though, in that he rarely ever wants to be serious. Later on in life, maybe five years down the line, you'll have something not many dragonriders can claim: 'married life' syndrome.

		+	There will be arguments. You'll drive him crazy, he'll do his best to annoy you. It's a whole new phase of love, the kind that speaks of a long relationship between two sentient beings who know each other too well. Always, though, will he retreat from these fights, both physically and mentally, to calm himself and, eventually, he'll be back, having forgotten all he said and did, only knowing he hurt you, and he'll envelope you completely or pester you until you take him back. And you will, you have to.

		+	Yajieth isn't moody, he isn't unpredictable and he's always open to you... until he senses a proddy green. As it is with some relationships between dragonriders, mating flights are a problem. The fact that he needs to chase every green he sees is a point of irritation for him. He loves you, dammit, not her. But instinct always wins, and he always puts you to the back when the time comes to take to the skies after whichever green is up this week. His passion is overwhelming when it's the chase, all sensible thoughts banished. He wants. And you, left on the ground, will be consumed, perhaps abandoned for the time being. But green flights are short and when all's said and done he comes back to you. Sometimes he'll be apologetic about winning, if he loses he'll be consolable if only you stay near him, cool the fire in him with your voice.

		+	Females are welcome, don't get him wrong, and in the heat of the moment he'll surrender to his want of them. He caters to them too, outside of flights, like any flirty Casanova would. The sweet ones, the shy ones, are his favorite girls to be around, he likes to watch out for them. It's the ones who challenge him, though, who catch his attention, those are the ones he'll keep the most company with.

		+	When it's time to fly Thread for the first time, Yajieth will push all thoughts of harm and worry away and try his best to convince you to do the same. << It will be good, darling. I'm here. >> But you, as the human half of the pair, need to be thinking, that's /your/ purpose. Wing formations, keeping the supply of firestone coming, these things are important, let him worry about flying and flaming and you about the more technical things. And don't, whatever you do, let him be a hero. He'll want to do crazy things like follow a clump of Thread down to flame it before it gets that brown, or leave the wing to help the green over there. Friends are important, and understand he loves them, but he can't risk himself.

		+	As it must be for a dragon of his size, endurance is going to be his downfall. He'll hate to give up his place in the wing, but when the time comes to swap him out he won't be able to hide it from you and you need to take action then. And though he's often forced to drop out early, his performance during his time in the sky will be all that blues are known for: he's /fast/, he's agile, he's a lean mean flaming machine.

		+	For you and for his fellow dragons, Yajieth's voice is a gentle purr, soft and easy on the ears and the mind. It possesses a strange lilt, an accent that shouldn't be; he just has a way of saying things is all, like he's just a breath away from breaking into some happy folky song about love and green things. And he will sing, and often, when he starts learning about music and how lovely it can be. Often his voice will be accompanied by a soft strumming, like that of a violin.

		+	The Night's Embrace Blue Hatchling is really starting to dislike this whole affair. Sure it was all fun and games a moment ago, but he's really /hungry/, and things are getting scary. Without another breath he rushes forth to slip in and make merry with the freckled girl with wavy blonde hair and pale blue eyes.

		+	Your Yajieth is inspired by Valentine's Day. The love, the passion, the gift-giving. We tried to include a full spectrum: obsession, infatuation, unconditional, cutesie. The little marking in his desc is, of course a heart. You asked for Gerry from P.S. I Love You and so we've tried to add in his goofy sense of humor, his singing voice, how he and Holly would fight and how much he loved her into Yajieth's personality. Not to mention his Irish lilt in his mindvoice.
