''Almost as if nudged by something, the Soapbubble Egg seems to vibrate for a moment. It stills again briefly, but a moment later, there’s a snapping, crunching sound and the Soapbubble Egg bursts open. Its occupant tumbles out, sprawled flat on her belly and looking a bit dazed, as if she had been pushing with all her might when the shell finally gave way. '

== Gruff Grumpy Green ==

Sharp sparks of light forever whirl in her eyes, like distant stars: calm, focused, cool, logical. Little like most green dragon’s eyes–yet this green dragonet is not like most. She is no small, slim, dainty creature with wings of silken lace, but large, strong, with wide broad wings that form a natural cloak. Her large bellows of a chest provides strength via bulky muscle. Powerful shoulders and hips act as springboards to help compact limbs launch her up into the air in great leaps. Her tail is flattened vertically like a sea snake’s, ready to ripple in her wake as a counter-balance, or to wrap securely about something or someone precious to her. The features of her head are broad and blunt, ruggedly practical in one way and stubbornly unyielding in another: short but spiky headknobs, a slightly flattened muzzle, and almost sharp ridges, especially about her eyes. Green she may be, her hide also reflects her body’s unwillingness to conform. A muffled sea green coats her belly and the undersides of her wings, neck, and tail, as if she lay in a pool of the color. Deep, dark olive covers the rest of her body like a blanket of camouflage, with streaks of pale, almost translucent gold highlighting the sharpness of her ridges and headknobs, as if the edges gleam, ready to cut.

She doubles back and sniffs at the ankles of a female Candidate with startlingly blue eyes. She rears back on her haunches and bugles right into her new-found lifemate’s face before settling down with an expression that is half satisfaction and half ravenous hunger.
