== Granite and Mica Egg ==

The surface of this long, narrow egg appears rough and harsh, seemingly pitted with tiny fissures, the dark grey flecked with endless speckles and streaks of black that give it the illusion of hard rock from a hard land. A faint sheen overlies the apparent roughness, the illumination sliding along it like cascading water over a sheer cliff. Flecks of gold and silver peek out from amidst the darker colors, mica and pyrite set free by the patient, endless washing of a mountain stream.

''Small bits of shell fall away in a quiet rain, the sound lost in the excitement and noise in the cavern. Tiny forelegs pull the body free. He lays on the hot sands for a moment, as if unsure of his strength before uncurling and rising in a wobbly motion. His head turns, a slow scrutiny that catches everything. As his clutchmates journey off to find their lifemates, he watches for a bit and then warbles with a quiet excitement. Dragging an overlong tail, he joins the search with single minded purpose. ''

== Tarnished Verdigris Bronze ==

Silky smooth, rich bronze as pure as if just refined from the heart of the fire pours along a slightly elongated body, as if tail and torso had grown a bit faster than the rest. Overlaying the pure color of the coat are swirls, splotches and specks of colors that resemble the verdigris tarnish bronze acquires through time. Dark reddish-copper threads sinously with smaller specks of crystalline greens and tiny plumes of dull brass, barely perceivable. With an awkwardness that could be taken for shy indecision, and a quiet demeanor rare in one so young, he could easily be overlooked until you catch his gaze. Large, whirling, hypnotic with the force of quiet curiousity, his eyes take in everything occuring in the hectic world around him.
