 Gallagher was born to Crom-born 'Reaches riders Gallania and B'gherio. He was raised at High Reaches Weyr until he was twelve when he was recruited for his physical potential by the Crom guard. It wasn't that Gallagher was going to be a beast, just that even at a young age, he had a solid combination of strength, agility, and precision. Being from Crom, his parents always impressed upon him that it was an honor to be selected for the Crom Guard, known throughout High Reaches sweep for being some of the best of the best.

Tall at 6'2", he wears his sorrel hair cropped short on the sides, but longer on top crowning his strong, angular face. Despite the evidence of past violence, he doesn't ''look'' particularly threatening.
