At High Reaches Weyr, the focus of the weyrling training program is not IC lessons. It’s getting to know your character as they change and adjust to the presence of your brand new dragon, and bonding with both your fellow weyrlings and the Weyr at large. To this end, rather than having required classes, we base our weyrlinghood around casual roleplay as well as vignettes and occasional planned events. Classes and training primarily occur off-camera, because we know most of you have played them all quite a lot of times before. Any on-camera lessons are optional.

Each week will list various activities that will be going on off-camera, to provide you with a fuller sense of the life you will be leading as a weyrling and what you might be learning from week to week.

To graduate, you just have to be there. There are no requirements to check off. However, a selection of vignette prompts is available for each IC month, and do suggest that you consider working on the occasional one of them. The vignette process is an excellent way to explore your character’s unique and possibly complex relationship with his or her dragon.

Your current weyrlingmaster is Meara and green Isath. Her assistants include Val and brown Visigoth, Quinlys and blue Olveraeth, and Lina and green Aryeth.

We strive towards keeping our weyrlinghoods focused on roleplay and character development and welcome feedback to the Weyr administrative team at any point.
