I ran into your cousin, today. At least… I'm pretty sure she's your cousin. Her mother is Jivira, and if I'm right, she's your aunt, isn't she? She's also a candidate, which really surprised me, because I always figured that you Blooded people weren't allowed to do things like that, but maybe that's just some of them. Or something.

Anyway! It gave me hope, kind of, because if she could be searched then maybe you could be, too! If not this time, then in the future, maybe, after I've Impressed and can come get you myself. And that would be perfect, wouldn't it? I guess your father might not be too thrilled, or your grandfather, but we'd be happy.

I'm glad you're excited for me. I read your letter, like, a hundred times or more. I haven't told anyone about you and me, here. Not even Jiella, who is your cousin, after all, though I think she might have guessed. It's exciting, having a secret, even if sometimes I want to scream, because no one actually knows, and I miss you.
