The clutching continued on through the fifteenth, a few eggs here and there, carefully attended to until finally, the morning of the sixteenth, the last egg seemed to appear. But given how slowly she laid them, there was that inevitable baited breath.

By evening, with no sign of more eggs, a celebration will start. The final number will be called, seventeen, with one containing that burnished gleam so prevalent among gold eggs. It's even been set aside on it's own little mound, tended to with as much care as the rest of the clutch which sits on the sands in pairs or trios. Niahvth is a doting mother, barely taking time to rest or eat, ever vigilant in her care.
