Taikrin was pretty heavily invested in giving the impression that she was only here for V'teri's benefit-- just here to humor the bronzerider and his wacky ideas, really. As she waited her turn to draw a straw, feigning boredom all the while, her mind worked in a furious back-and-forth with Szadath.
