''This broad ledge is dappled with bright light in the morning and commands a lovely view of the eastern end of the bowl, including the lake and the trees that dot the shoreline. Reached by a flight of stone steps that climb up from the bowl floor, the ledge is relatively low, an easy jump down to the ground; possibly its selection was a safety precaution, so anyone stumbling out the wrong way after a flight would be unlikely to break his or her neck. Within the weyr itself is a comfortably-sized dragon wallow, rarely used but swept clean nonetheless.''

''The cavern broadens as it stretches back away from the entrance to reveal a neatly made double-sized bed pushed up against the back wall, a press at its foot with an extra blanket folded on top of it and two chairs standing guard to either side of the hearth. A rectangular table lurks against the side wall, kept stocked with a pitcher of water and a basket of seasonal fruits. The weyr is well-lit and kept immaculately clean, the refreshing scents of citron-infused sweetsand mingling with the tang of herbs.''

How long has N'ky been hiding under a blanket in the guest weyr? Long enough for him to have wriggled about in his sleep to have his head poking up above the blanket, even though he's still totally zonked out. Anyone coming in will see a sort of trail of clothing, leading from near the entrance inwards... first his flight jacket, lying there abandoned; then boots, then, getting closer to the bed, his trousers and underthings. Anyone sharp-eyed might notice there's no shirt to be see, though the hint of shoulder that's poking out from the blanket is bare, suggesting he's not wearing it - and no socks, either. Not that N'ky seems to care. He's oblivious and snoring softly.

And anyone with half a nose can likely also smell the scent of leftover sex on the air. As Alida's not conversant with any of the sights and scents of the aftermath of a Flight, she can only frown softly, and finally carry on in her quiet movements into the guest weyr. She's almost eerily quiet, her boots placed just so to render their thunks quite muted, the tray with a little jar of numbweed, a small ceramic jug of whiskey, and a sandwich upon it held carefully as she pads in. After moving to the side of the bed he's currently snoozing in, the blonde settles the tray down to her outside upon the floor, then turns to observe the depleted greenrider for some long seconds.

It's a bit longer than a few seconds before it registers with N'ky's sleepy conscious that there's someone there with him, and he murmurs a few incoherent words as he squirms about under the covers. Then one eye slowly cracks open, blearily spying Alida as he looks over his shoulder to see who's there. He smiles, turns back around and seems to go to sleep again - until he's suddenly blinking both eyes into awakeness, turning around to look again -- and ''yes'', that ''is'' Alida. N'ky looks confused as he sits up, scrubbing a hand through his hair as he winces groggily. "'Lida?"

"Yeah..." the blonde notes quietly, glad for the dimness of the covered glowlight about them. Leaning back against the rock wall, Alida then inquires softly, "You alright?" Pause. "I got back not long ago." From her long day's transport duties all the hell over Pern. "Brought ya' yer requests."

N'ky's expression is hard to read - there's tiredness, probably from the lack of sleep Cailluneth's caused him in the better part of the past seven; there's hurt; there's something hard to put into words - and there's a touch of relief, too, because it's ''over''. The bluerider's question, though, seems to send all of those emotions up into a rolling boil, and N'ky suddenly looks less ok than his weak little nod says he is. It quickly turns into a slow shake and he holds a hand out to his clutchmate, beckoning her over to him. The reason? Clearly for a hug.

For once, she's willing to play the oversized, scruffy 'teddy bear', given that this is an extenuating circumstance, and with that hand gesture, the guard pushes up off the wall, paces over to the side of the bed, then settled her ass down upon the edge of it, hips turned so she can at least partially face the greenie. Not a word is said, the bluie awaiting whatever might come from her clutchsib.

There's a lot of wincing as N'ky pulls himself up into a position where he can curl his arms around Alida, loosely wrapping them around her waist while he buries his face against her shoulder. He squeezes gently after sitting still for a few long moments, then tilts his head in so he's facing her neck and cuddling her closer. That's when he draws in a deep, shuddery breath, before suddenly stiffening up, head to toe, as if something's wrong.

For once, she'll honestly do the 'big sister' thing better than usual, Alida cupping one hand to the back of N'ky's head, while her other arm settles at his shoulders, lightly patting, stroking little motions upon them. She allows him to turn closer, then asking cautiously to the greenie's stiffening, "What?" She's at least partially clueless.

Alida's ''petting'' him. It makes N'ky nuzzle in closer, hiding his face against her neck, then her collarbone, then her neck again. It's almost as if he's reluctant to stay whatever caused that top to tail stiffening up, and he banishes it with a shiver. But, he knows he can't hold it off forever, and while he doesn't go stiff again when he admits what caused the first wave, he ''does'' tense up, as if ready for a bad reaction. "I-I'm ''naked''."

She suffers through the more intimate contact in silence, Alida withholding her usual stiffness in order to simply be there for a friend in a time of distress. For his revelation of being naked, the woman sighs, pauses for a moment, then notes dryly, "Yeah." Beat. "Any other insightful observations?" A hint of her typical, dark humor is heard amongst some concern. And the dryness, of course.

N'ky lifts his head, looking down to where his feet can be seen beneath the covers. He wiggles them, then pulls a face. "I've got socks on." His nose wrinkles, and he curls one arm tighter around Alida's back, rocking carefully onto one hip and thigh. "And I ''ache''." His forehead's pressed back to her collarbone, and he exhales heavily. "And I'm tired, and... sore." Given how red he is with embarrassment from his cheeks to his ears, it's a wonder she doesn't feel the heat from them through her clothing.
She *can* feel the heat from his cheeks on part of her neck, the v-ed collar of her shirt exposing some pale skin. Listening to the litany of N'ky's woes brings the woman to nod slightly, then murmur, "How 'bout you use that numbweed, eat the sandwich, guzzle yer booze, then getcher' clothes on." It sounds more like a plan than an inquiry. "The we move yer sorry a...self t'the baths fer a quick scrub before 'caeth 'n I fly ya to yer own weyr."

"A bath?" That perks N'ky up a little, audibly if not physically, as he doesn't actually ''move''. "I'd like a bath." But it involves ''moving'', and... well, he nestles back against Alida, quite comfortable where he is. "Cailluneth's very pleased with herself." Then, more quietly, he lifts his head to ask, "Have you heard anything about Darcielth? Or that, um... Fortian bronze? Or the brown? I don't even know ''which'' brown..."

"Yes. Getcha relaxed, clean." Especially the latter. Still holding the taller greenrider, Alida simply nods fractionally to word of Cailluneth, then murmuring, "He's gonna be okay. Got furrows down 'is hide that'll require a few days uv' healin' before 'e c'n Between again, but that's nothin' major." To *her*, they'd likely be the scars gained along the way to becoming a veteran of such 'battles.' If she could head quirk without injuring either of them, Alida would, but as it is... "Heard she attracted a couple non-locals, but that was it." Headshake. "C'mon now, get movin'. Don' want me ta have ta kick ya out uv bed again."

Word of April's blue makes N'ky wince, guilty-like. It's the prospect of getting another Alida-style wake-up that gets him moving at last, though, even if he's still somewhat reluctant to do so. And less ''shy'' too, as he rummages beneath the blanket then flicks it back a bit, with his shirt held over the bits Alida really doesn't need to see. It doesn't hide the red marks along the front of his thighs though, what looking to be the remnants of a tight handhold, nothing more. He traces over one lightly with his fingertip, before reaching for the numbweed. "'Lida?" he looks from the marks to the bluerider, then back again. "I-if Ilicaeth ever catches Cailluneth, I swear I'll never hurt you." Holding the numbweed jar in his hand, he then looks meaningfully at her, asking her to turn around while he tends to, ah, more ''intimate'' parts.

As he finally moves, Alida slowly withdraws from N'ky, rising slowly from the bed, getting the tray and taking it to him, then moving off and turning away to allow the greenie some bit of decorum. And when he says that, the woman can't help but ducking her chin in some, not responding to her clutchsib for some moments. She's glad he can't see her face, turned away as she is. Finally, neutrally, "Don't promise wha'cha' can't be sure uv. I couldn't promise the same ta' you 'r anyone else, in the same situation." For she has no idea how she'd react.

Rustling with the covers and mattress rushes behind her will let Alida know N'ky's up and on his feet, and the shuffle-shuffle of socked feet across the floor and an unsteady pause as he puts on his underthings. With at least that much clothing on him, the greenrider comes up to Alida, pausing behind her. "You're right, I can't be sure, but... ''Faranth'', if it were Ilicaeth and Cailluneth?" His trousers are by her feet, and he crouches to pick them up. When he stands up - wince-free, thank you numbweed! - he's smiling, tilting his head slightly to the side while clutching his pants in front of him. "Imagine how good it felt when they were playfighting. Times that by... by ''50''. Maybe ''more''."

"Guess I'll find out, sooner 'r later, some day." She sounds dark and glum about it, but fatalistically pragmatic. "Eat that sandwich so I don' have ta listen t'the Headwoman rant that it went ta waste."

The 'if' is purposely used, and he rests his chin briefly atop her blonde hair before pulling away to slip his trousers on. Half-dressed, he goes for the sandwich - though only after chugging a small mouthful of whisky. "It was... intense. ''Good'', once it got to it, but so intense, and the time leading up to it, and everything... it wasn't as bad as I made it out to be. I'm just... exhausted. Emotionally, physically. And ''hurting'', but... it ''was'' good."

She readies herself for the hug, something in her feeling it coming, so Alida doesn't stiffen like she usually does at 'surprise' contact. For once, there's no snappy comeback from the bluerider, the woman simply standing there and feeling, listening to N'ky's presence as he samples that whiskey, starts chewing his sandwich. All the information the greenie can supply her with his thoughts about Cailluneth's flight are filed away for later perusal, the woman finally - if slowly - turning around to peer at her clutchsib. "Glad it was...okay fer you." For it gives her some hope for herself, even if small.

"It'll be ok for you, too." The sandwich is finished, the whisky is downed and the numbweed jar is pocketed, and it's not long before N'ky's dressed - save for his shirt. That he leaves off for reasons he keeps to himself, but he puts his jacket on over his bare skin to be led across to the baths to clean up, and happily accepts the extra whisky Alida shares with him while he dries off and warms up in the nighthearth. By the time they get up to his weyr, which is still lacking a Cailluneth, he's the fuzzier side of tipsy... and is even brave enough to risk attempting to plant a kiss on the bluerider's cheek as she puts him to bed.
