|desc=This low, narrow ledge is barely a hop up from the bowl floor for a
dragon, so close to being an actual ground weyr that it's almost unfair -
if only someone had thought to build some steps! Actually, someone has
tried the next best thing, bolting in a now-fraying rope-ladder that
/does/ offer access to the ground... if one is willing to chance the aged
material. As close as it is to the ground, the daily hustle and bustle of
bowl activity sweeps all the way across this ledge, and even indoors: it
rarely dims below a loud buzz during the day, and even at night sounds can
carry. The view's good, though: the perfect spot to survey goings on
around it.
|log=The ledge was littered with skulls again - and Qhyluth coiled among them, gray-eyed and solemn.

He wanted the water.

He needed it.

But, his wings felt too heavy and his hearts ''ached''.

The waters of his mind reached out and touched every mind it came across. It filled those gaps with puddles of his essence; and, when he was satisfied, the waters rolled on and left broken shells and chalky carapaces in their wake. The tide was unstoppable; the force immeasurable.

But where so many needed days to determine the truth, he needed mere hours. Intense hours. Deep hours. Hours in which he very nearly drowned himself in the deep ocean of his own misery.

Hours that felt like eternities and unspooled themselves into a string of delicate constellations that rested on the dark water that filled the perpetual twilight of his mind. In the end, the connected lights of all the dragon minds he reached flashed once - and winked out of existence. The one he sought was not among them. Not any more.

He struggled to his feet, his body heavy with mourning.

Ulyana was inside, working in The Book. ''She'' was getting better at giving life to the things of his mind. He was pleased, but that pleasure meant nothing - not at that moment. He stuck his head into ''Her'' quarters and ''She'' looked up with a slow blink.

He gurgled; ''She'' stood.

When ''Her'' hands rested on his muzzle, the blue all but vibrated with need for that contact, for that touch. His eyes lidded and ''She'' continued to press ''Her'' hands on his muzzle, his eyeridges, his headknobs while he retreated into his own mind.

In the deepest waters, where warped galaxies hung in precarious balance and distorted stars glowed in unnatural hues, another constellation joined the two that were already there.

Sidrinth glittered in luminous bronze, brighter than all the others.

Hraedhyth was scintillating in deeper gold, larger than all the others.

And, now, Eliyaveith, a set of stars in brass and gold-kissed bronze.
