''The Snowasis is rarely quiet, and even then, the high-ceilinged former weyr is kept from echoing by the fantastical booths tucked into its convoluted perimeter. The secluded seating spaces have been shaped from the truncated stalagmites that escaped the smoothing of the main floor, and are both softened and separated by colorful hangings that are thick and opaque enough to make each corner its own private nook.

''Some of the smaller stalactites still roam the ceiling, their jagged teeth tracing a bumpy, inverted spine to the hearth. There, a thick rug with a low klah table and comfortable armchairs and couches sit, their upholstery and cushions changed sporadically to match the season: bright, light colors in the summer, fresh greens and yellows in the spring, warm autumnals in fall, and clear, rich hues for winter. Small tables litter the rest of the cavern, enough to fit up to four people each, while stools stand along the smooth wooden bar behind which is the passthrough window to the kitchen. Glass-paneled cabinetry behind the bar provides a clear view of the available liquors, the many colors reflecting the soft light of glows tucked into strategic niches around the cavern.

It's not that Jadzia spends ''all'' her free time at the Snowasis. But she's there often enough that the bartenders are no doubt somewhat familiar with her presence. And some of her habits. Namely drinking and welcoming pretty much any attention that's given to her. Tonight there are no would be suitors, however, just the young woman sitting at the bar by herself with... whichever drink this is over the amount she probably should have stopped at.

Tayte is fresh on shift, which explains why Jadzia was able to get even that many. The vintner's been at this bartending thing long enough to recognize even well-managed signs that this is more than 'one too many,' so her eyes are casually attentive to the moment she attempts to get a next drink. Perhaps she'll luck out and the lighter blonde will call it quits on her own.

No such luck. Once Jadzia finishes her drink, she stares at it for a handful of moments, but ultimately looks up for the bartender that was serving her. Because obviously ''they'll'' give her more. She moves her glass and gestures, which is a little bit easier than saying actual words at this point. More please?

Tayte's hand falls on the arm of the other bartender and steps toward the blonde. "Sorry, candidate, that's all for tonight." Her voice isn't unkind, but it is firm. Her eyes are attentive to the younger blonde's reaction now, meaning to gauge where things need go from here.

"Just one," is Jadzia's first, slow reaction. This is probably pretty standard. "Just one more and I'll go--" She'll go throw up, possibly. Or pass out. She probably means just go back to the barracks or something, though.

"No." Tayte is good with words. "You can stay and sober up if you like, but no more drinks." At least the bartender is very direct about where she stands. It doesn't look like she's about to change her mind or say "Just kidding!" either.

No is not the word that Jadzia wants to hear. She growls something under her breath and presses her face into her hands, pushing them back into her hair a few moments later. The blonde ends up staring at the counter, though she does glance up long enough to see if Tayte is going to, like, go away.

Tayte will rock back a step, and shift to pick up a rag to wipe down the bar top nearby, but no, she's not going ''away''. Not enough that Jadzia will be able to get anywhere with any of the other bartenders, at least.

She keeps tabs on Tayte for a short while, but then her attention is wandering outward. Jadzia scans the people nearest to her. It's not until she spots a man, not a particularly attractive one, sitting by himself that she starts moving to get up. If she can't get her own drinks, by Faranth someone else will get them ''for'' her.

Tayte would probably be less annoying as determined bartenders go if the not-very-attractive man didn't suddenly start getting not at all what he asked for. Virgin versions of everything.

Jadzia isn't so far gone, a point which might be beyond consciousness for this particular woman, that she doesn't notice the decided lack of alcohol in her new drink. Unfortunately for the man, she has no qualms about abandoning him when her ''flawless'' plan doesn't work. Jadzia heads back the bar, not entirely steady on her feet, and glares across the counter at Tayte, "I can still drink somewhere else!" So there! And she turns toward the nearest out to go find one of those places, evidently.

Tayte isn't in charge of people drinking elsewhere, only (to a point) here. The bartender's answer to the glare is a look that keeps her usual smile on a leash. Hints of it are there, but it's not like she's gloating; this is just the job.
