Dear Isobel,

I wish you'd said goodbye in person. I know we don't really agree on a lot of things, but I guess I do value your friendship, too. It felt kind of lonely, without you to say hello to sometimes. I intended to write sooner, but I suppose I didn't know what to say. Things have been… messy, but I think they're better, now. As much as they're going to be, for the moment. I think maybe you were right, and you were better off not at the hatching, from what I saw. I hope you're happier for it.

I'm well enough. Halfway through the pregnancy, now, apparently, which feels really weird, but I guess that's what happens when you don't know for so long? I don't know. The idea that I'll have a baby before next autumn still feels a little unrealistic, but I'm showing now, and I guess that makes it all a bit more real. Plus, I actually felt it move the other day, which was enormously strange.

My family still want me to go back to them, but I'm not going to. I'm doing fine, here, and K'del is visiting quite a bit, which is nice. I think I'd like winter to end, now, though, because I'm getting tired of snow. Already, you might say? Yes, well… it's not much like this, where I'm from.

I'll try and visit. I'm still allowed to go Between for another month or so, and there's no reason why I couldn't fly straight, or just get a lift by ground down, or something, so we'll see. It'd be nice to talk to you again.
