|log=Day 13 of month 12, Elaruth once again favoured the breaking dawn, only this time as one suitable for her clutch to arrive. The assumption made that all would be well, the galleries remained open and, as the morning progressed, the stands filled with those wishing to observe the queen and Bijedth arranging eggs on the Sands. Mid-morning, it seemed that Elaruth might have finished producing what counted as a small clutch for the Weyrleaders’ dragons, only after an hour or more of the senior queen remaining restless and unable to settle, a palpable stab of concern from Bijedth moved through the Weyr, and N’muir was quick to clear and close the galleries while Fort’s dragonhealers were brought in to assess the situation. By the afternoon, word spread that the final count for the clutch is fourteen, with several large eggs and some more spherical than, well, egg-shaped, rumoured to be the cause of what difficulties transpired. Though the galleries have been opened once more, the Weyrwoman is looking a little worse for wear, and Elaruth is decidedly pale (even for her).
