|log=It's been two days since the cave in. She called. He came. The sex was more desperate than Irianke is known for, a lack of control in her physical actions and the way she ''needs'' an escape vibrating in every twist and demand she makes of him and when it's done, she lies there on her sweet scented pillows, an arm tucked under him and her body curled into his. Her legs twine about his, her toes graze his feet, and every way she can, she's claiming him by making sure their bodies touch at all points. "''Fuck,''" she says, ''sounding'' weepy, or at the very least sad in that exhausted way of too many nights up pacing.

His eyes are closed but his breathing, particularly the acknowledging rumble H'vier offers her comment, makes it obvious he hasn't just done the deed and fallen asleep. Not that he ''couldn't'', this is rather more comforting than worrying by himself in his weyr or in the arms of someone he shares no connection with. But before too much silence passes, he says, "There's no use worrying about it right now." Because of course he assumes that's what she's doing.

No, there isn't. There's acknowledgement to that, her agreement unvoiced, when Irianke buries her face into his shoulder, then his chest, her body pushing all the closer as if the physical comfort is all that's keeping her from imploding. Her breathing is uneven and eventually, she gives up trying to refind that sense of oneness and rolls away, though still touching along her side to his side. "Stay the night. I don't particularly want to be alone when I wake up." Being alone in the morning means that she's ''alone''. That Lycinea won't be coming in with her breakfast, that they won't get a chance to talk. "I should take Lya something tomorrow."

When she shifts away, H'vier's eyes open and he looks at her. "I'll stay," he says, moving a hand to search for hers, to even squeeze it in a fashion that could be considered comforting. But there's a slight tension that enters his features at mention of Lycinea and his gaze shifts toward the ceiling. "You should." He doesn't, for his part, say anything of the same. "She'll probably appreciate that."

"Thank you." Irianke doesn't speak anymore. Silence is never good for wandering thoughts. She doesn't sleep much that night and when she does wake, it's always to reach out and make sure H'vier is still there. If he should wake when she verifies his existence, she'll insist on another round, less hurried, less driven, no less comforting.
