 The thing about growing dragons is that well, they outgrow straps faster than toddlers. It means that there's plenty of leather getting passed around the barracks to lengthen and reinforce and make entirely new sets of straps as needed. It also means that occasionally a couple weyrlings are tasked with picking up a new batch of leather from the Weyr's tanners. Today, Telavi was chosen for that honor, and K'zin volunteered to go with her. Their dragons wait just outside the complex with some carrying satchels that can easily drape their necks to help tote the load. They've been in and back a handful of times with armfuls of leather, so by now the winding tunnel that leads back to the tanners' fragrant work space (the smell not permeating far through the rock, thankfully) is familiar to K'zin's feet. They made chit-chat as they crossed the bowl, nothing of any import, the change in the weather, the lecture that morning, the berries from breakfast. It was companionable, like the handful of times they mended straps together. The tunnel is wide enough for three to walk abreast but not much wider. Now there's silence that, too, is companionable, each rider's thoughts kept to themself as they focus on the task at hand. At this point, it's becoming repetitive so focus isn't needed so much. "You and Solith are looking good in the sky together." It's delivered casually, without much pressure for a response.

−	And that display flattens their hands between them, has Tela suddenly tightening her free hand in the folds of K'zin's shirt with something gratifying like a gasp... if possibly because, as a seamstress, wrinkles are very bad indeed. "''Can'' you." And that's lilting, something closer to a dare. She'd been hunting for some comeuppance, hadn't she? At some point? It might come back to her later, along with why the very well-remembered reason not to kiss him ''that'' way should matter. Perhaps the latter still has something to do with why she doesn't immediately let him in, perhaps it's because she as ever likes to take the teasing route, but at first she's just smiling quite against his lips. He'll chap hers, if he keeps that up. She waits. And then she opens to him, just a little, responding with little darting licks of her own like she'd make her way into ''his'' mouth that way.
