|log=Something woke him from his stupor, knocking over empty bottles as he sat up, listening.

Silence. And then something, almost unheard.

It was the first sound he'd heard from Leiventh in a seven, though it wasn't the formerly-annoying, now-missing and longed-for wordy draconic version of events he'd hoped. The coldness that filled his body, that all-too-familar, all-too-felt-lately sensation froze him in place.

Leiventh keened, his wings splaying, angular body contorted weirdly.

Movement flooded back in tingles of sensation. R'hin knocked bottles out of his way in his haste to the dragon's side, his ''who?'' more thought than voiced, a question that, as ever, exhausted him.

Leiventh did not answer, but he ''felt'' the answer, nonetheless, in the reminiscent, half-remembered pounding of drums that threaded through the bronze's keen for a moment.

His fingers clenched, and he slumped against Leiventh's side, feeling the thrum through his hide as the dragon continued to keen.

"We should go... back."

Silence.

"We ''need'' to."

More silence.

Even the threat of calling Saindyth didn't do it this time -- who would call her? Not the traders he'd been with -- they'd left him days ago, with a tent and a meagre amount of supplies, generous in his mind. He had a dragon, after all. He could go anywhere.

But Leiventh refused to.

Normally R'hin'd have been happy to camp out here, but his supply of alcohol had dried up, too, and with Leiventh's continued silence he was left only with the thoughts in his own head.

It was almost more than he could bear.
