|log=What started as a confrontation between the Weyrsecond and R’oan in the living caverns led to a bet on behalf of Hematite and Sandstone for a wing competition in mock Threadfall. On Day 7 of Month 8, Hematite and Sandstone faced off, with Taria’s Malachite playing the part of dropping Thread and counting injuries and misses.

Hematite had a good showing, as anyone would expect of the Weyrleader’s wing, but ever known for the innovation and flying skills, Sandstone handily won. Not without, however, many riders (and not /all/ of them from Hematite) noting that Malachite dropped a lighter ‘Threadfall’ for Sandstone. And to add insult to injury, Sandstone’s temporary Wingleader went home with one of Hematite’s blueriders, Nala.

There are plenty of rumors of R’oan cheating on Sandstone’s behalf with the help of Wingleader Taria, and there have been minor scuffles and words thrown between the two wings since the competition, causing more tension than the showdown solved. Regardless, N’sel is back from his enforced vacation, resuming mantle of Wingleadership, and Hematite had to run double sweeps for a seven, taking over Sandstones’.
