| log = Many had wondered whether High Reaches Hold's tithe might show up at all, given the -- difficulties -- with the Weyr of late. Arrive it did, if late -- one might even be inclined to say "last minute" -- the day before Turnover. The drivers declared that the tithe was to be delivered to the members of the Glacier Wing, perhaps in the tradition set by Lady Edeline of Tillek. If nothing else, the beleagered Weyrleader appears to have the support of at least one Hold -- even if only through her wing. Even so, it seems that Hold is clear on making its displeasure known to the Weyr -- with the tithe only a third of what would be expected, it's going to be a lean winter for the residents of High Reaches Weyr.

In other news, rumors from the Hold suggest that the pirates were reluctantly released, all but confirming those suggestions that the Weyr's riders meted out some punishment of their own on the former prisoners. Just ''where'' the pirates are now, and where they're headed, is anyone's guess. It seems that High Reaches Hold is intending to put such things behind them though, with a large Turnover celebration planned to welcome in the Hold's first Turnover with a new Lord.
