|log=Early morning of day 14, month 13, a foreign queen and bronze were greeted by the Weyrleaders’ dragons and invited to share ledge space for the duration of their stay. The riders of all four, as well as three other figures, spent the morning in the council room, though the visitors did not opt to stay for lunch and appeared set on leaving as soon as possible once their meeting was concluded.

Rumour correctly named Fort’s visitors as Preita’s former Weyrleaders, which some say explains the stormy expression that Hattie was sporting for the rest of the day. Nobody but those present at the meeting knows for sure just what Fort has had to agree to in terms of compensation for the loss of a junior goldrider and her queen. If they must pay like for like, will it be Isyath’s first gold egg if Elaruth never rises again? Transfers? Goods (which the Weyr surely doesn’t have)? Will it be the weyrlings who are the price?
