Leova enters at something near to a stomp, except that it also involves a limp, and her tunic has suspicious stains down the front and side. "Clean," she mutters under her breath. "Clean, clean, clean."

Laylia is currently sitting on her knees in front of the press at the end of the cot she's claiming for herself. Clothing is being tucked into it, carefully folded and then set inside without much ceremony to it. Her hair is then tended to by pulling it back into a runner tail as she looks at the new arrival. She offers a quick smile and a curious, "Did something happen to you?"

Startled, Leova misses a step and looks over, eyes narrowed as if that would help her identify Laylia. And then she lets out a breath. "Children. Many, many children. Many, many, many children. Gotten nursery duty yet?"

Laylia tosses the last of her things into the press, and then gets up so she can better assess the other woman with a long look. "Childr.." Oh, right she shakes her head a couple times, "Oh.. No, but I don't mind children. I was just asked to stand not very long ago, so I'm just getting settled. My name's Laylia."

"Leova," she replies, bypassing a chair and heading for her own press as though to pause would halt her entirely. "Lucky you. Not minding. Where did you live before?"

"I was here visiting my sister, but I'm truly from Rocky Flats." Laylia offers politely, and scrunches her nose a little at the quality of sleep she's likely to get here. "They really do scrunch people in here quite tightly, don't they? I don't mind children because I'm older than a few of my siblings, so I helped as much as I could."

"Rocky Flats." It wavers just on the edge of maybe-she-knows-it maybe-she-doesn't. Leova crouches, carefully, by her press and starts picking whatever comes up first off the stacks: some white, some brown, all mostly like what she's got on. Hopefully minus the stains. "And you hadn't had enough of them. After that. Good for you."

"I wouldn't say I'd like to be surrounded by a lot of them, but I don't find them utterly unappealing either." Laylia says, looking at Leova while she searches for clothes that aren't all covered in stains. "Where did you live before? Rocky Flats really isn't too terribly far from here, if you didn't know. It's pretty small, so..."

Leova's hands are clean, at least, scrubbed to the nails. "Much like here?" she asks, tucking the white clothes into the brown clothes before she stands. "Tillek. The area, but the Hold, now. That's a big Hold."

"Weather-wise, not much different. But, like here in size and activity? Not really." Laylia tries to figure out if that's the answer being fished for as she tests out the pillow that came with the cot by fluffing it on her lap. "Oh yes, Tillek is big. How long have you been here? Can't have been too long, right?"

As Leova's heading back Laylia's way, "What's it do? Crops?" While the other girl is paying attention to the pillow, her own gaze lingers furtively on the details of her fine cotton apparel, the bow on the waistband and the cut of the sleeves. Leova doesn't look long, though, and when she lowers her head as though to examine a fold in her own clothes, her hair conveniently falls about her face. "Not long. Since the night the eggs were laid. Think L'sen said it was then, anyway."

Laylia tosses the pillow back at the head of the cot, and then slumps down into it with a bit of a sigh. "My family herds llamas, but there's crops and other useful things that come from Rocky Flats." She says, and then sprawls on the cot a little more. "L'sen, huh? I don't know that rider, but he's probably right. Hey, mornings are early here, right? I think I should probably try and get some sleep soon."

Leova pronounces, "Neiveth," with the proud air of someone who's practiced it. "That's his blue... almost a purple blue, unless that was just its being dark. Maybe." She looks back at Laylia, "I'll try to keep it down when I come back in, then. Not too loud. Tell me about Rocky Flats some other time?"

Laylia grins a little and nods, pushing herself up so she might get into some nightclothes before crawling into the cot for some sleep. "He sounds lovely, maybe sometime I'll get to see him, too." She says, and then smiles, "Alright, and thank you very much. It was nice meeting you, Leova."

"You too." Leova starts to tuck her clothes under her arm, thinks better of it, and just winds up clutching them in one hand on her way out. Wrinkles and all.
