| log = Despite the snow, the chilly wind whipping her dark hair about, and the ice that clung to the blades beneath her feet; all Azaylia felt was warmth. It was in her legs, burning as she skated for far too long, until it had started to feel good again. It could have been the fun of it, or perhaps it was her skating partner which made her reluctant to stop. The bluerider had managed to keep her on the frozen lake and during the laughter and lessons a different, though still familiar heat had crept up on her.

And of course, there was Hraedhyth's fire.

<< You are having fun. >> Not a question, smug smoke curling to caress her rider despite the distance between them. That didn't matter. The whole weyr was welcome to bask in her flames, energy a steady crackle though her body was still for the moment.

''Aren't you?'' Azaylia's reply was not smug but playful.

It had been a long while since the gold was so content, making up for lost time during her separation from the other dragons of the weyr. Now she had several bodies to curl up with as there was plenty of room against her huge, tawny form. Whirling eyes watched their lifemates celebrate Turn's End outside, for as long as the decent weather lasted.

The gold shifted to rest her jaw atop a bronze's shoulder, her enjoyment so obvious she didn't feel the need to comment on it. Instead, << It is good. >>

''What is?''

Azaylia couldn't stifle a soft laugh, puff of breath trailing after her as she and her partner glided past others. Her cheeks were sore from both the cold and her constant smiling. ''Things are looking up, aren't they?'' A quick glance to the redheaded bluerider confirmed that much, his boyish smile coaxing a giggle that always made her feel silly. He seemed to like it, at least.

Turn Over never felt like the end, not to her. The junior was one to focus on the next turn, the one she had yet to experience. It was a clean slate. Another chance to do things right, and better than before. With Rielsath's clutch on the way, it was easy to feel as though they were all getting a new start.

Soon there would be eggs, candidates, and eventually weyrlings. There was also the Fort hatching to look forward to. A new weyrwoman. Azaylia had so enjoyed talking to Hattie, perhaps she shouldn't wait until the hatching to do it again. Then there were Glacier sweeps-

The drums interrupted, steady as they had been, with a few firm thumps. << Stop. >> Hraedhyth's command came with a sharp, affectionate nip. << You are here now. >> All those thoughts, all those ambitions could wait until the young woman wasn't ''here'' but ''there'.

On fatigued legs, Azaylia allowed herself to be led off the ice. Face flushed, eyes bright, she could only laugh as she fell into the other rider's arms, nearly knocking them both into the snow. Luckily, the bluerider was sturdy enough.

<< He is scrawny. >>

''You're a queen!'' She couldn't hide her surprise, perhaps even a little insulted, ''Everyone looks small to you.''

Hraedhyth answered with a huff, blowing her fleeting disapproval away and leaving only dark smoke. Her rider had a point.

''Besides, you won't even be back until morning.'' Azaylia accused of the social beast as she walked arm and arm towards the drink table. The night was hardly over, and likely wouldn't be even after the festivities had begun to die down.

The bluerider must have thought himself the funniest man on Pern with how often Azaylia ended up laughing that night.
